December is keeping us busy!

December is packed full of fun events for our family!!!  We started out this week with the school Christmas program!  The kids did such an amazing job again!!!  I love the programs at Linville Hill!!!  I forgot my camera so my phone had to do.  :(

Ashlyn was excited to be in her first Christmas program at Linville!  Those little boys and girls are so adorable!!!

Matthew got to play his first middle school basketball game yesterday!  He is so happy to be on the A team!  They played well and started the season with a win!!!

This totally cracked me up!  Matthew is fixing his hair!  At a basketball game!!!  I thinks its habit but he does care how his hair looks now!  Hehe!!!  :)))

A great start!!!  Good job boys!

I have spent so much time in my kitchen this week!!!!  The food budget is going out the door this week!  Today I made five pans of rice krispie treats for our church nativity!!!  If you are looking for a fun family event to do this weekend, consider coming here!  We have a walk through LIVE nativity with real characters and real animals!!!!  It will make an impact on you and your children!  Bundle up though because its outdoors!!!  You will be blessed!!!

I filled tons of filo cups with fresh dip and fruit for Sue on Tuesday.  She did the annual Hershey Medical Christmas Party and these are always a hit!!!  They look and taste great!!!

I baked two different kinds of biscotti's for our family!  Gingerbread and Almond Chocolate Chip.

I also made two different kinds of bars for the characters of the nativity tonight!  Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars and Triple Layer Cracker Toffee Bars.  Both are recipes from Pinterest!  I think they will be yummy!!!

This is our little man today!  He has this thing about our coffee mugs.  And coffee, actually!!!  He touches my hot mug every morning and says "hot, hot".  Then begs for a few sips.  He seems to like it!  Then he wants his own mug and I usually try to get him persuaded to use the plastic choo choo train mug but today he insisted on the smiley face mug.  I can put it up against the fridge and get his own ice cubes!  Now, he thought this was so cool!!!  I love this stage right now that he is in!!!  You can explain things and he seems to get it 98% of the time.  I'm still not sure why the other 2% is difficult!?!  I guess it's called toddlers.  :)))  Like the times when I say "no, no" and he looks straight at me and still does it!  Or when we are driving down the road and he's sick of his car seat.  Or when we tell him "not to pull peoples hair"!!!!

Our family Christmas cards are now all in the mailbox and ready to come your way!!!  May you be blessed!

Counting down! 19 more days!

I love counting down the days until Christmas day!!!  There are only 19 more days!!!

Help yourself to a candy cane today!!!  They really are good and Austin loves them!!!  :)

It's December!

It's December!  It's the month of Christmas and we are so excited!!!  Ashlyn has been begging to go get our Christmas tree and so after a full day of shopping with my mom and sisters, we went for it.  It had rained most the day but Ashlyn didn't care if the tree was wet or dry.  :)))

We went to our usual farm in Whitehorse and picked out the perfect size.  For the first time, we went with the biggest size!  Now that we have some higher ceilings, it fits great in the living room.

 Everyone helped pick out the tree.

This little man is so cute!!!  I could constantly being taking pictures of him right now!  He's just darling!

After we found the perfect tree, Mike loaded it up and we took it home.

Matthew and Mike drug in the tree.  It always takes us awhile to get the tree straight and ready for decorations!  We strung the lights and hung the ornaments.  Ashlyn was so happy to be doing this!

Mike helped her put up the star!!!

It all looked so pretty for about thirty minutes when suddenly the whole tree fell over!!!  Yes, it fell right over onto the carpet.  Spilling the water that the tree sits in.  It pulled the lights right out of the receptacle.  The ornaments all went rolling.  Mike was already relaxing in the recliner and after a sigh and a huff, he got up again to set the tree in place.  Hopefully, this time it will stay in place for a long time!  :)))  I just chuckled when Ashlyn came running to me and said that I need to come see this!  Every year we have such a hard time getting the tree perfectly straight but this was the first time it totally fell over!!!  I swept up the fallen needles and we decorated the tree once again.  :)  It's all worth the efforts because I love the fresh green smell in the house and it makes the living room so cozy and Christmasie!!!

===============================

Mike made a deal with a customer and gave a discount on a shed in exchange for this basketball system!  It took effort on Mike's part to make it all happen and set it up ... but it's now ready to go.  The kids will play with this a lot!!!  Thanks Babe!!!

The little spectator!!!  Wherever daddy is ... he wants to be too!

=========================

Austin loves candy canes!!!  He is already 17 months old!  I could just squeeze him because of how cute his stage is right now!!!  I am loving it!!!  He is saying more and more words.  It's not very hard to figure out what he wants or is saying because he points to it or takes our hand and takes us to what he wants!  He is really interacting with Ashlyn and Matthew in play time.  He throws balls back and forth, hits a ball with his little hockey stick and loves his play guns.  He walks around saying "pow pow"!  It's adorable!!!

=========================

Basketball season has begun at school!  Hadassah is on the high school team and they played well after their first scrimmage even though they lost.  There are only seven girls on the team which means each girl will get tons of playing time!  Hadassah was in the entire game and loved every bit of it!!!

Matthew is playing basketball in middle.  He is still just having practises but is looking forward to their first game coming up!

As I was going through some pictures, I realized I forgot to post this one with the cabin post.  My dad decided at midnight that he needed to go get drinking water at Walmart.  So, Mike and these two drove along!!!  You never know what might happen past midnight at the Clearfield Walmart!  :)))

Yesterday was a day out shopping with most of the Lapp Sisters.  I'm usually the driver and this was part of our crew!  We went from store to store buying our Christmas gifts and having fun!  Thanks ladies for making it a fun day!

 Now I can get busy wrapping some gifts!

============================

Every year, Sue Esh goes to Hershey Medical Center and sets up a Christmas Party for those in the hospital, doctors and nurses.  She takes lots of different foods and I am the one that makes these filo cups filled with dip and fruit!  They really make a nice display and taste yummy!  They are the perfect little grab and go food!  Please, remember these families in prayer over the Christmas holiday!  They really wouldn't chose to be in hospitals over the most wonderful celebration of the year!!!  For many, it's not their choice.  We simply cannot be grateful enough for our health!!!

The Christmas music continues to play constantly here at our house!  The tree seems to be fastened good now and it's not moved since we readjusted it!!!  Gifts are slowly being wrapped and placed under the tree!  The kids are excited about their Christmas program today and everyone will be wearing reds and greens and golds!  I love it!!!  Christmas is simply the very best holiday!!!

Hunting season @ the cabin!

We surprised my family at the cabin this past weekend!!!  Everyone had plans to go up and hunt Monday morning except for Mike.  He usually likes to hunt but just didn't take the time to do this this year.  Friday afternoon he mentioned something about maybe still going up the cabin for weekend and surprise my family!  Well, of course me and the kids were all into that idea!  So, we picked up Hadassah at work on Saturday night and headed for the cabin!

Austin picked out his very own donut and loved the M&M's!  :)))  Thank you Beilers!!!

The two in the back seat played some chess on the way to the cabin!  :)  (Ashlyn just moves buttons and Matthew wins.  She doesn't care.  She really thinks she is doing a good job and in all honestly, she is actually understanding the game more and more.  One of these times, she is gonna beat him.  :))) )

Well, take a look at this ... Mike said he wasn't going to go hunting, but just in case he got the urge, he packed up his hunting gear.  And, of course he went to the woods first thing Monday morning.  AND HE SHOT A BUCK!!!  As soon as it got shot, it ran hard and there was lots of blood.  They tried to find the dear but it must have not been the best shot or else it ran much farther than they expected.  Mike was disappointed.  Good try, Babe!  I was really excited for you!  :)

And if daddy is outside, so is Austin!

Getting ready to hunt.

Tony and Tyler went out together and Tyler hit a spike later that afternoon!  Good job!

This is how my brothers and dad get ready to head for the woods!!!

Spending the weekend at the cabin was another fun weekend!!!  We had so much fun playing games!  We eat huge breakfast's and have delicious snacks!  The kids tear up the basement but when it's time to head home, it all gets cleaned up!!!

Thanks mom and dad for hosting our family again at the cabin!!!  We love you guys!!!
