Second Round of States won!!!

 These boys are making us feel unbeatable these days!!!!  One game after the next is a huge win and we are advancing to more difficult teams!  Last night was so fun to cheer again and watch the Warriors in victory again!!!  

This game was played an hour and half away, in the hills of Minersville.  The gymnasium was spacious and nice!  It was a late night for us all but so fun!!!!

Coach is doing great!  Really all the coaches are!  We have an incredible team!

He really taught these boys how to play good basketball!

We have been so blessed to only have minor injuries like scrapes and bruises but last might Tim made a crazy good basket and when he fell down, the wind got knocked right out of him.  He laid there for a bit and we held our breath hoping he would be fine!  It took a few minutes but soon he got up and before long, was back in the game!!!!  Way to go Tim!

Coach likes Matthew!  And Matthew likes coach!  And for good reasons!  Matthew is always early for practice!  He listens intently to every move and works so hard at each practice!  We are super proud of how Matthew is learning and showing good character on the court!

The final score was 66-56!!!  We won again and now move on to round three of States!!!!

We all cheered so loud and just couldn't be more happy to move on to the next round!!!

Won first round of States game!!!

 Last night, Octorara High School was packed out with around 500 fans coming to cheer for Linville Hill Warriors or Fannett-Metal!!!  It was again such an honor to watch these young men play so well, with good attitudes and really pressing in on the fourth period!  Every game is so fun for our family to watch and cheer!!!

Something we love about this years season is that all the games are open to fans and family!  Last year, only Mike and I could go and cheer and wow what a difference it makes for the boys playing basketball this year when the gymnasium is packed out and there's a huge student section cheering their hearts out!!!!  It's wonderful to see and hear and cheer along side of!  Lot's of family came out to cheer Matt on!

The Warriors beat the Fannett-Metal Team 75-60!!!!

Linville has never advanced this far in sports before and we are SO EXCITED to move on to yet another game!!!

LINVILLE HILL WARRIORS VS LANCASTER COUNTRY DAY!

Linville Hill Christian School is having one amazing basketball season!!!!  We are so proud of these boys and the couches!!!  They have worked SO HARD at every single practice and there were lots of sweat and energy poured into each practice!  One thing people are noticing about our small school team is their endurance!  We have a bench full of really good players but the starting five players are the bulk of the playing time and they are still running, blocking, shooting strong in the fourth quarter!!!!  They are tough boys with really good endurance!!!!

Mike and I were so excited to spend the entire day watching and being with the team!

LINVILLE HILL WARRIORS VS LANCASTER COUNTRY DAY!!!

The game was at the Giant Center in Hershey and at 12:45 PM.  Many took off of work to come watch and cheer and see the team win!!!!  School left out on early dismissal at 11:15 so teachers and students could come and watch!!!  The stands were full of community people that came out to watch!!!!

After the game, Matthew and Daniel were interviewed!  Many of their comments are now in the news and newspaper!

After the game, Ashlyn and Austin went home with Matt and Lena and I just love how they are always welcome to go to their house!  It really means a lot of days like this when Mike and I can stick around with the team and not have the littles trudging along all day!  Thanks again Lena!!!

And here's a proud moment for Mike and I with Matthew in the wind!!!!

Mike and I are our kids biggest fans when they join any sports team!!!  We cheered at many volleyball games for Hadassah and a lot of baseball games for Matthew over the years and there was no way we were going to miss this big basketball game yesterday!!!  Our kids needs to know we are their biggest fans and show support!  They might not say it to you but they want you there!  We LOVE IT!!!  Mike really fell in love with the the basketball team this year!  Matthew is the caption and we just couldn't be more proud of these boys!  Mike often went to their practices!  Before Matthew had his license, Mike would leave a little earlier and watch the last practice minutes.  Now that Matthew is driving solo, Mike still goes!  I think it's awesome of how these two support each other!

The Linville Hill Warriors competed very well all season!  They only had two loses!!!  They made it to playoffs with a record of wins like this and won!  They made it to finals VS Mount Calvary at Lancaster Bible College and game in second place for their league!!!  They moved on to Districts and won again!!!  This brought them to Districts Finals yesterday at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA!!!  Linville Hill was so excited and dismissed the entire school at 11:15 so that whoever wanted to join the game and watch the team play in Hershey, they could!!!  We were over the top excited and the boys played great!!!  IT WAS ANOTHER WIN!!!  Those who came to watch and cheer errupted into a celebration as the team received each a metal and a trophy!!!  What an accomplishment!!!!!  

These coaches mean so much to the team and really why they got to this win!!!!

The team went to Applebees for some good food and to watch the team have fun while doing so well is a blessing!  They love Coach Schatzmann and all the assistant coaches!!!!  Then they all piled into a van and went over to tour Hershey Chocolate World!  We ate chocolates while driving to Dunkin to fill up on caffeine and then we all went back to the Giant Stadium to watch the final districts game that others were competing in!  (We won in our division!  There were girls games and other school competing in other divisions!).

 

It was a long day!  An exciting day!  Another day of big wins!  Thank you all who came out to watch, to cheer and celebrate another victory!!!!

Now ... the team moves on to STATES!!!  The energy keeps going and we are excited to watch and next game!!!!  GO WARRIORS!!!!

March 1!!!!

There are many reasons to celebrate on this day!  One ... is that we flipped another calendar page and it's now March 1!!!!  Any day closer to spring and out of winter is good news for me!  This is a tricky month because we start having some warmer Spring like weather but winter still tries to hold on and sends us wintery tempts!  Two ... the word SPRING is on this months calendar and I love Spring time!  Three ... it's time to start dreaming about the gardens outside and buy seeds to plant and watch the grass turn back to green and see buds and blooms popping through the ground and on the trees!!!  It's exciting!  And ... we have celebrations to celebrate!  Ashlyn loves to plan and is already making a list of girls she wants to have over for her birthday celebration!  Matthew will have a basketball banquet to celebrate the Warriors wonderful accomplishments that they are still deep into!!!  A big game is coming up this week and we CANNOT wait to go watch, cheer, feel all the nerves and hope for a another big win!!!!  Ashlyn is beginning her short basketball season today and is excited for an after school practice and some games coming up this month!  

Sometimes I just want to stop and freeze the time!  The kids are all busy at school!  We came back from vacation with school work all finished up!  Austin is busy learning new words every week and his list of six or so spelling words gets written out on our white board every week!  He was ready to go back to school and see his friends after our vacation!  Ashlyn is learning a lot too and was on a search for a study guide last night so she could take a test today.  I do need to stay after her about homework and tests but she's persistent and studies!  She just finished up another monthly book report and I'm proud of how she really has taken these projects in her own hands and gets it done well!  Matthew is hot and heavy in all things basketball right now but he's finishing up this third quarter of eleventh grade and is doing his intern at JR's Auto!  He is else at school, at basketball practice or a game!  He's excited to lead the high school team into their Districts game this week!!!  We are so proud of how he leads!  He wasn't happy about missing out on our Florida vacation (none of us were) but when we came home he was happy to see us and really has a good attitude about life!  I love this in him!!!!

Jeremiah and Hadassah were great to have live in with us while on vacation and now they are back to their jobs!  We love seeing them in love!

Because it's the first of March, I took my seed list and went to Royers Seeds to buy many packs of precious vegetable and flower seeds!  I texted Mike and said it's time to get the mower and garden tools sharpened and ready for use!  It won't be long before we start pushing dirt and planting seeds!  I can't wait!!!!

And it's another month to keep reading through the Bible!!!

I'm a pen and paper gal and I love to write out my thoughts, dreams, blog and journal!  I made my 2022 Gardening Dreams list and took it to Royers today and bought seeds!  Last week, I grabbed a few packs of seeds at Ken's when I stopped in to smell the potting soil and see spring flowers in bloom!!!  I love greenhouses!!!!

Here's the pile of seeds I bought today!  Some are flowers, some are vegetables.  I do wish to keep adding to our garden space and maybe even add some fruit trees to the area!?!  I'm gonna need hubby's help with that one!  I'm excited to plant all the early spring seeds like lettuce, spinach, kale and radishes!  Then when it warms up to no more frost we will burry the cucumber seeds and add many more vegetables like tomatoes, peppers and green beans in the ground and watch them grow!  

Today, I got to help first grade do another paint project and it was a messy one!  The kids did great and made some nice textured art that they will use to make books in a few weeks!  Austin and Colson were both in my group! 

Today is also faschnaut day and so we celebrated with some yummy powered and glazed donuts for dessert!
