We are having a heat blast coming with the first day of July! It is very warm ... reaching 90! The AC is running and it feels so good inside ... unless we go to the pool and stay cool in the water! It seems to be the best place to be during the warm, summer days! We got to visit the pool on Monday after a busy morning of canning red beets! I discovered that my family loves red beets, especially Ashlyn! That was her supper that night! Mike's mom came and helped me can one basket of beets and I now have 11 filled red beet quart jars on my counter! After a day in the sun, it just seemed the best choice to make BLT's for supper! Mike was all into this!!!
Nothing beats the heat other than with water and cold popsicle!!!
Hadassah did a great job splashing with Ashlyn in the pool. I did get in myself ... eventually! Just sticking in my piggy toes is most times good enough for me.

Mike celebrated another birthday last week and playing soft ball most of the day, that made it extra fun for him! He helped a team play ball in a fundraising tournament and he played great! It was warm. They played some hard, long games. Saturday was a long day with them ending in second place! Mike was so tired and in need of rest! Way to go guys!!!

Because it was so warm, changing shirts after a few games was a good idea. Now he's got a Titans shirt on because that's actually the team he helped play with this weekend.
Titans VS Gators ... how funny it seemed to be cheering for Mike while yet finding myself wanting to cheer for the Gators too! The Gators won this game but we played them again in the semi finals and then the Titans won.

Sunday we went to Sunday School and then to my parents for burgers on the grill! Grilling season is in full swing and it makes food so tasty! From there we went to Dave's for a "KanJam & Supper" night. The food was great, the KanJam was short, and walking through Suz's garden was fun! Thanks so much for selling this meal ticket for a good cause!
Yesterday, Hadassah and I planned a day out to go to Hobby Lobby! We invited Courtney and her mom to go with us and last minute we took Ashlyn along too. We shopped this great store and we were very happy with our buys! From there we went for lunch and ice cream just seemed to be the right choice on such a warm, hot day! We also made a short stop at Joanne's for some fabric before heading home. Meanwhile, Matthew was at the shop with Mike and then swimming with Mommy Lapp, Anna Ruth & Janessa. He had fun too!
We are spraying the flowers with seven because the bettles arrived and decided to make a feast out of our roses, etc.. We also are enjoying the fresh cucumbers from the garden. They are the best. So juicy and tasty. It's makes for a healthy snack! The onions are ready to use. My string beans are growing and I hope we have a plentiful harvest of these! They are a family favorite! Tomatoes and peppers are still getting better and we are ready to pick those as soon as they turn red and green! Yum! We are so blessed!!!

And ... because it's blueberry season & because we are eating lots of them & because they are so good for you & because they are so sweet and tasty ... we are already on our second batch of homemade blueberry muffins!!! They are so easy to make! Simple for breakfast! Hadassah loves these!!!
