School is out = Summer vacation!!!

Today was the last day of school for Hadassah and Matthew!  They are both excited about summer vacation!  As always, I'm sure it will take a few days of schedule adjustments.  Staying up later.  Sleeping in.  Eating breakfast much later than usual.  Not always snacking because of not having their heads and brains in their school studies!  It will be a change but it's always fun to be more lose and easy going during the summer months.  The kids have been begging to go to the library this afternoon!  I hope to find them both some great books and keep their minds still learning this summer!  We've made going to the library a routine during the summer months!  It helps with some quiet time!  Ashlyn enjoys books so this will be fun for her too!!!

The last day of school is always a day of awards for the kids.  They love this!  Hadassah was an outstanding student this year.  She really gave it her best with her studies and went ALL YEAR LONG without a blue slip!  That is like a huge, big deal in middle school.  Blue slips are given to students if they forget to complete homework.  Or if they forget to bring something they need to class.  Or for misbehavior.  Hadassah tried hard to not get any of these and she did it!!!  So proud of her!  She also worked hard to get on the A Honor Roll!!!  She accomplished this too!!!  Her school grades matter a lot to her and it shows up in the end!!!  Great job!  Also, she received some ribbons from MACSA!  Second place in long jump and first place in the relay race.!.  Wow!  Matthew received a white ribbon for third place in track-n-field.  The red team finished in third!  He also did well with his grades and school work.  Good job Matthew!!!

The pictures in the gym always get a nasty color.  :/  But I'll keep taking them because I love these for memories sake!

The fifth grade presented Damien Smoker with a large poster of his favorite baseball player on it!  Damien battled cancer and missed out a lot of his fifth grade because of therapy, etc.!  Such a special idea and gift!

Now we will not be packing lunches for school but will be taking foods to the pool!!!  Yeah!  Bring on summer vacation!!!!

==========================================

Strawberry season is in full swing!  We picked only a few berry's from our garden so far but lots are still ripening.  We've been enjoying Mommy D's shortcake recipe with fresh berries!  Some of us eat the cake with milk!  It's so yummy!!!

The other day when it was so humid and warm, Annie invited Ashlyn and I to their pool!  Swimming in May doesn't always happen so this was fun!  The other kids were in school and it was such a fun treat going with just Ashlyn!  She loved it!!!  Her and Sierra had a blast!  We love coming here to swim!  Thanks Anne!!!

===========================

Today was a rainy day.  We need all the rain to soak in our very thirsty ground!  The grass is already turning brown and getting crunchy!  We've not had our April showers like we usually get and so it's been on the dry side!  Thank you Lord for the rain yesterday and today!

Later this afternoon, Matthew went out in the drizzle and started up a camp fire.  I know it will be a challenge to keep this kid busy all summer long.  He played Lego's must of the afternoon and finally just needed to go outside.  Hadassah went out to and bounced a ball around in my rain boots.  :)  When Ashlyn woke up from her nap, she went outside to Matthew.  She put on her rain boots and soon came running back inside for more paper.  She said their fire won't stay lite and they need more paper.  :)  Everything was soaked!  Then soon again she came in for some marshmallows.  Why not have dessert first and then supper???

These two can be the best of friends but then they tease each other like crazy.  I threatened to make them drink apple cider vinegar yesterday afternoon if they didn't stop their bickering.  It stopped!!!  Fast.  I love to see them hang out together around the camp fire!  I think it's special when a brother holds his little sister!  This was them this afternoon.

Hadassah and Matthew will be huge helpers with Ashlyn when baby arrives.  Hadassah will be my right hand lady!!!  The kids can really help around the house!  When they needed something to do this afternoon already, I got them to take the rest of the things in the front closet downstairs into the storage room.  We are still slowly putting more and more things into storage so that when we need to get out of the house, because of remodeling, we won't have the whole house to pack up in a few days.  Waiting for permits has been a challenge but God knows when the timing is just right.  I'm sure of that!  He knows what this pregnant momma can handle.  :)  I will be very happy to hold baby dear right here in our own home if it arrives before we get to move out!

We are still on the count down with baby!!!  We are at week 34!  Only 5 weeks and some days until due date!!!  I had another doctors visit this afternoon.  Everything seems to be looking great!  Baby is growing and that is very obvious!  I am feeling and looking very pregnant.  Baby moves a lot!  I get plenty of kicks and bumps throughout the day, especially in the morning and evenings.  I love to feel that alive little one inside of me.  I am ready to hold this baby.  To see it in "real life".  To kiss it.  Feed it.  Love it even more!  Care for it.  Adore it.  Count it's ten toes and ten fingers.  See the siblings bond with baby dear.  I am especially excited to see Mike hold it and love on it too.  With our other babies he held them in his strong arms and totally adored them.  I'm sure this will be the same way!!!  He's excited.  The kids are excited.  I am excited to see our delivery day come sooner and faster!  We are so blessed!!!

The weather forecast is saying more cooler, cloudy, rainy days until Friday.  It will give us a chance to get used to no more school days.  It might just be a few days of kicking back and read books and play games.?.  With the busy end of the school days, we are ready to relax!

Enjoy the rain!
