School sports have begun and we are in the thick of things right now!!! Matthew is playing soccer and Hadassah is playing volleyball. They both have two after school practises a week plus games. I am their source of transportation which means you can find me at school most days at 5 PM picking up one or the other. It's a lot to keep track of and in fact the other day Matthew forgot his soccer shorts at home. He called me from school asking me to bring his shorts to his 4:00 game. What game??? I thought he only had a practise but I was thankful that he called and reminded me to come and watch! It worked out perfectly knowing that the game was Paradise Park. Not far from home at all!! Mike and I like to make most of their sports games. It really is a sacrifice the whole family makes but it is so, so much fun to watch them exceed in their interests and talents!!!
Matthew is a forward in soccer and has scored a few goals so far this season!!! Go number 6!!!
Hadassah is in her little glory when she can be playing competitive volleyball!!! They played some games the other evening against Lititz Christian School. Linville girls won!!! It is such a blast watching them serve hard and spike that ball!!!
(Some day I will figure out how to take crystal clear volleyball pictures. Ugh!!!!)
We stay very active with the sporting games at school this fall but we still take time to enjoy a fun field trip with Ashlyn's kindergarten class!!! Cherry Hill Orchards was such a fun place to visit and the whole experience was delightful!!!
We started with a hay ride out to an apple orchard!
And look who goes to school together on Wednesdays!!!! Shakia and Ashlyn!
Everyone could pick one yellow delicious apple off from an apple tree and eat it!!! They were so yummy!!!
Our tour guide told the kids about how apples can get bruises on them if they get bumped. Or how sometimes they can get rotten.
These two helped each other find their perfect apples to pick and then eat!
Apple facts ...
Then we got back on the hay ride and went to a pumpkin patch!
And we ate our apples on the way to see the pumpkins.
Again, everyone could pick one pumpkin to take along home!!!
And again, these two helped each other find the perfect pumpkin!
Then we watched a movie on "Johnny Appleseed". Very interesting.
The day was finished with some freshly made apple cider and pretzels!!!
The children had just a bit of time to run through the hay maze before heading back to school.
The morning spent with Ashlyn on her first field trip was really fun!!! I love you Ashlyn!!!
And now a little about our little man ...
Austin is so much fun right now and I really should post more about his stage in life!!! He is entering into a toddler and not so baby anymore. He can understand what we say. He expresses himself so that we can understand what he wants. Most times. He is much calmer and delightful now that those teeth came through! He takes three hour naps!!! He is eating and eating! The other day he feel asleep in his high chair eating his lunch. So cute. Blankie and Nuk are still his favorites. He loves to give Ginger her treats. Shoes are an obsession of his right now! He is always wanting to wear shoes!!! His blond hair and blue eyes always get people fussing! He is adding more vocabulary each month!!! He latest is Pow Pow for a gun and bye bye!
I love, love this stage!!! Thank you Austin for being such a delight!!!
I'm off to bed! Mike and I have a wonderful weekend coming up with just us two and some friends!
And I must add ... these fall days are beyond gorgeous!!! Thank you Jesus for your many blessings and for giving us these gorgeous Autumn days!!!
