Thanksgiving Day morning … we slept in a bit and then gathered around the dining room table for our annual family meeting! Everyone took their turn saying what they were REALLY thankful for and then their "word" for 2019 and some family goals! We talked about how Thanksgiving all began and how it's so awesome that it still remains a national holiday for our country!!!
Thanksgiving Day was spent with Mike's family at Moms. Again, we started the day with a noon meal and reflected on Dad and how much we miss him! Mom had some of Dad's extra personally belongings on a small table (some sweaters, new packs of underwear she had bought for dad, jacket, etc.).
The Thanksgiving Feast was so delicious! John Ervin cooked up two small turkeys on the green egg and then mashed potatoes, noodles, veggies and coleslaw were added to the meal!
Mike was the carver!
And of course, these two had to sit beside each other!
After the main meal, we enjoyed some chocolate cake, pumpkin pie and fruit.
The kids played and raised the roof all afternoon! We played two long games of Marble Chase! Some played Settlers. Some shot clay birds and sited in their rifles for the upcoming hunting days!!! We didn't stay at Mom's too late. We got home around 7:30.
Hadassah and I had our annual shopping spree planned. Jess and Verna joined us again, plus Matthew and Chandler! It was a real trip! The traffic or the lines weren't bad at all. Khols was the longest line and we did have to wait pretty long there but other than that, it was all clear sailing. The boys had fun and Matthew bought a huge Snickers bar! The girls had a blast and never got home till 4:30 AM!!! The moms also had fun and came home around 1:00 AM!!! :)
Thanksgiving is when we give extra thanks for our blessings and praised God again for our health and families!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
