Damien John Smucker has fought the battle of having a cancerous brain tumor for five years!!! Five years of on and off treat emery’s. Surgeries. Two trips to Germany for alternative treatments. So many hospital stays. It’s been such a long, tiring five years for the smucker family and last Friday, Damien passed from this earth into glory!!!
We are good friends with John and Suz and this tugs on our hearts so much to see them pour out their lives and hearts and now being crushed. But we also know that God is good and that he has a good, good plan ahead for this family!!!
Austin and I went to see Damien last Thursday. We sat by his bedside and talked to him. Watched him lying there in his hospital bed at home.
When we got the message saying that Damien is now living with Jesus on Friday morning, I was sad but rejoicing that he longer needs to have pain, hurts, discomfort and so many doctors and nurses helping him through life!!!
We had a long weekend with the smucker family! We were at their home serving them in any way possible! What a blessing it is to be part of their lives!!! Then the viewing was on Sunday. And the funeral on Monday! Thank you so much if you were the ones watching our kids over this tome! God will bless you as we were able to support John and Suz!
Again, I’m blogging from my phone, so much more could be shared about this time of grief and loss.
