Weekend celebrations!

We had a fun, full weekend!  My family gathered at Jason and Mindy's on Friday to celebrate all the March birthdays.  We sat around the table eating burgers and cake!  We had a great time!

It's always nice to have Mommy D. join our party!

 

Saturday morning was spent helping Matthew pack up his things for his upcoming senior trip.  Then we grabbed lunch at the shop because they had a burger truck there to celebrate customer appreciation day.  Austin ended up going with Hadassah to the little league tournament Jeremiah was coaching at and Ashlyn went with mom to shop as a reward for picking up sticks and pinecones in her yard a few weeks back.  Mom Lapp was with me for lunch and we stopped in at Leeds to buy a planter for a gift and of course to see and smell all the flowers that are growing in their greenhouse!  Gorgeous!

 

We had reservations to eat at Ichibun Saturday night.  Ashlyn chose this place and we all loved it!  As the chef cooked our food in front of us, we sang happy birthday!  Matthew invited Daisy to come along too.

We stopped at Sweet Frog for dessert on the way home.  

The entire night was so fun and we all came back home to watch some March Madness yet!

We also gathered with the seniors as they loaded up all their things and we prayed them off on their trip!

On the way there, Austin told Matthew that he's going to miss him.  He asked him how long he was going to be gone.  He asked, "A year?"  We laughed.

We are gonna miss this kid for a little while but we are praying that God will protect, keep them all safe and healthy and that they would be a light to the people on the other side of the world!!!!

The Lapps then celebrated Mom Lapp's 70th birthday!

The daughters planned a beautiful event for mom!  The party was so fun to see friends and family come and celebrate Mom!!!

I loved watching her friends come and support her!

Steve and Ruth did the catering and the food was so pretty!

The drop in party was from 3-6!

Happy birthday, Mom Lapp!  And good job ladies for all working together to throw this beautiful party for your mother!  We love you Mom!!!!

And with all the celebrations over the weekend, we did not forget that it is Palm Sunday!  The day when Jesus rode on a donkey through Jerusalem and people were throwing down their cloaks and singing, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!  Hosanna in the highest heaven!" Matt. 21:9

I love to watch some YouTube clips that were made to represent this entry into Jerusalem!  I also printed out this paper for us to follow through this week as a family!

And yes, we also turned the calendar page and it's now April!

Spring is here!  The garden has the first tender plants planted and we can't wait to eat some garden fresh lettuce and vegetables!

Have a good Holy Week and read about the Easter Story in the Bible!  This is such a privilege to teach our children the meaning of Easter and tell them how and why Jesus died to take away our sins!  To die on a cross for me!  Then to rise again three days later on Easter morning!!!!

Jesus is alive!!!!  The whole world needs to know about this!!!!
