I love, love our football weekend we do every fall! We go to a different stadium each year but always watch else the Cowboys or the Chiefs!!!! We travel with Mike's Aunt and Uncle and always have the best, best time!!!!
And this year we went early and to a hot location! Normally, it's cold and we bundle up to tour the new city and stadium and have to walk the streets in winter clothes but not year!!!! We decided to go to Arizona, the hot desert state, to watch the Cowboys VS Cardinals! Instead of hot cocoa and beanies, we went to the game in shorts and cold water!!!!
We headed out early Friday morning! I love traveling with my man!!!!
John and Kathy flew with us and we arrived in the hot state of Arizona hungry and warm! First stop was some tacos from Leo's!
This was my third time visiting Arizona and it's such a beautiful state! In Phoenix, there's a lot of desert land and cactuses! Friday night, we toured through town and ate more tacos!!!! No complaints here!
Saturday morning, we started it on the Pickle Ball Court and then headed off to Hash Kitchen for breakfast!!!!
We had creative drinks for breakfast with a skillet full of goodness!!!
Then we went to Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix! It was hot, dry and gorgeous!!!!!
XOXO!!!
John and Kathy are so fun to travel with! They find us the best places to tour and eat!!!!
This is the first time that we stayed at a resort on our football weekend and it was great! Palm trees and so many pretty flowers surrounded us! We walked to the Pickle Ball Court each morning at 7 AM to play games of Pickle Ball with the Kings! This was great exercise and Mike and I loved playing together!
Sunday was game day! We grabbed an easy breakfast and coffee at the resort after some Pickle Ball. Then we headed for the game! Cowboys VS Cardinals. Who will win?
Stadium food is actually good! These corn dogs coated with jalapeño and corn sauce made my lips burn but they were so yummy!
We always walk the entire stadium before the game begins!
There is always good going on if you look for it!!!!
Players on their knees before the game time ... love it!
And you can't go to a football game without nachos!!!!
After the game, we enjoyed housemade pasta and meatballs at Sicilian Butcher! Dessert was a lobster tail and we drove back to the resort tired, sweaty and ready to travel back home in the morning!
We headed out early and got to the airport in good time. Our flight was delayed an hour and then we boarded. We sat there for awhile and then were told that we have to deboard the plane and wait for another plane to come because something wasn't right with this air craft. We waited at the airport for five hours and boarded again. Mike watched the Chief game highlights while we waited. This isn't ideal when things like this happen and we were ready to be with our children again.
Off and back on another plane.
Good bye beautiful Arizona!
We got just before midnight and our sitters were patient and so good to us! The kids were already sleeping but we kissed them goodnight and tucked them into bed! This was such a fun trip and now it back to packing lunches, doing laundry and house work! I'm so blessed!
