I baked her first cake. I GIANT CUPCAKE! I came across a picture of a giant cupcake online last evening, and I never have seen this before! It's a great idea and I thought it to be perfect for baby's first birthday!!!
I bought a cupcake mold at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and started mixing and baking!
RECIPE:
1 box of cake mix
Add:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 small box instant pudding
pinch of salt
Mix:
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 1/3 cup whole milk
1 cup butter, melted
Mix everything together really good. Put 3 cups of mix in the "top" and 4 cups of mix in the "bottom" portion. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 - 60 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Frost and decorate!!!
I decided to bake some regular cupcakes too and display them around the giant cupcake. With some pink icing, a cute peanut butter cup with more icing on top, seemed to make my cupcake adventure complete! It was tasty and cute!
We invited family over for a small party to celebrate Ashlyn's birthday. We enjoyed the cake and ice cream together and then Ashlyn opened up her gifts. She got to taste her cake too (goodness, it is her birthday! Why not have a sweet snack?)
Thanks everyone for what you gave and she will enjoy the babies, the new books, and the adorable clothing! She was given her first piggy bank too and even a few dollars to put inside! She was also given these adorable butterfly wings that she wore most of night!!!
Since Wednesday, she decided that walking is a good, fun thing! She's too cute walking all around the house. It's adorable to see her carefully go around the corner to the next room. She's exploring and officially gets into everything! If the cabinet, the drawer, or the door can be opened ... she will open it!
We love you so much Ashlyn and we had a great time celebrating your first year! We pray that Jesus will be very dear in your life! You are adorable, lovable, and very cute! Love you!
