My mom has been wanting to go to the beach all summer long and so we finally made quick plans to go before the kids are back into school. We left yesterday morning very early!!! Mom and my sister and sister-in-laws (and Mim :) ) all went together in a van. I left Ashlyn at home with Lena because I just wasn't sure how she would take all the traveling and a lack of a good place to sleep! We stopped for breakfast and filled our belly's good before touching the tan sand.
We kept checking our phones for the weather and every time it said, "Cloudy ... but warm." Oh well, we were hoping for sunshine and warm! It turned out to be just that!!! The sun peaked through before noon and the clouds floated away!!! We all got a new, fresh golden color on our skin!
Shakia went along. She did great!!! Loves the sand and water!!!
Matthew has a tradition of digging a huge hole in the sand at the beach. Any beach. When I told him we are going to the beach with Ryan and Tyler, he asked a few days later, "When are we going to the Florida beach?" Cute!!! He didn't realize we had a beach much closer to home than the sunny south!!! :) Matthew dug a hole almost 4 feet deep. When I sat on my beach chair, I couldn't even see him in the hole. Just kept watching that sand come flying out from his shovel. Thanks Mommy for the new shovels!!! Hadassah also made an alligator in the sand! Good art kids!!!
Our two water ducks!!!
Candy in the kitchen ... a kids dream come true when they are told they may pick something out!The twins did good too. Lots of trips to the bathroom ... but good!!! :)
Waiting for a wave!
The ocean view!!!
The kids are so enjoying the cold, ocean water!
Loving it!!!
Seashells are always collected!
The three of us had a blast! Love you guys!!!
Beach foods are the best. The kids wanted some ice cream, so we went on the boardwalk and licked really fast on our high, soft, ice cream cones! I felt like I ate a pound of sprinkles till it was all said and done. I was trying to lick the little girls cones and Matthews before it all melted away. The fresh cut french fries are always a compliment to ice cream cones!!! We ate some Grotto Pizza and salads before heading back home! Then a quick stop at the "Candy Kitchen" and mom treated all the children with candy! What a delight! I grabbed a few pieces of fudge for Mike and we were headed back home! The kids were so tired and some napped on the way home.
We got an extra treat when we dropped Fannie Lynn off at her house. The kids were delighted to finally get to see their little puppies!!! They are King Charles Cavalier Puppies and only 6 weeks old. Totallllllllyyyyyy adorable!!! Both are for sale!!!
Thanks ladies for hanging out at the beach with me and the kids. We loved the good time and had a blast!!! We should make it a tradition for every year!!! :)
