Summer ball games and goodies!

 

This past weekend, Mike played ball in a tournament at a local ball park.  It started Friday afternoon and went all day Saturday.  It was a muddy mess on Friday but perfect weather on Saturday.  The air was not too hot and the sunshine was bright!

 

Mike was helping the "Fisher's" or what I call some of the old Titan's team.  This is the first he played this season.  He's been spending lots of time at the ballpark, but it's else pitching for Matthew's little league team or coaching a youth team from church.  With both of these, he does a terrific job!  Mike was excited and felt it a privilege to be asked to help this really good team play in the tournament.  He played left field and hit a three run homer!  He also made the winning catch in the finals!!!

 Here's the team he played for all weekend!  They won 1st place!!!  They were given a big trophy and each player was given a ring.

 The kids all had a blast too.  Hadassah hung out with her ball friends.  Girl talk, buying smoothies, and watching games ... she was happy!

 Matthew looks like a ballgame guy ... or what???  I found some money on the ground and he used it to buy these glasses and his bracelet.  My brother gave him the blue necklace a while back and this weekend someone gave him this orange one.  It's broke but Mike and Matthew fixed it temporary.  He was there for the Gators games and for Mike's games.  He loves to be bat boy and enjoys the game like his dad!

 Ashlyn ... with all the mud on Friday night it was hard to sit back and enjoy the games.  I kept trying to keep her out and then she would see another kid dig their toes in the gooey mud and she would do the same.  I finally just let her get dirty.  Saturday was much better!  The weather was sunny and the puddles were much smaller!  She took along her little baby and made it her playmate.

Good job Hun!!!  You played great!  We are so proud of you!

Corn on the cob is in season!!!  We love it!  This is the first that we had it this summer and it was complete with some yummy BLT sandwiches!  I don't have my own tomatoes quite yet but hopefully soon!  I bought some local tomatoes and we are loving the great flavor in BLT's!

Each of the children dug in and at the corn right off the cob! 

 Of course, we brush it with some butter first and then sprinkle it with salt!  So good!  We also enjoyed it with some tasty water.  See Matthew's glass?  I put a tea leaf and some lime slices in cold water.  Different and refreshing!!!

It's raining again ... it's hard to enjoy the pool with so much rain!  However, I love that the grass is staying green and my flowers are being watered by God!!!  As soon as the sun peaks out, we all enjoy the outdoors! 

Last evening was such a beautiful night.  I trimmed off all the dead rose heads while the guys hit balls in the back yard.  The beatles are just starting and so some Seven spray was applied to some of our flowers.  The meadow tea needed to big time trimming too!  The girls were busy painting their nails.  Ashlyn is so into this right now.  It's even more special if Hadassah let's her paint her nails alone.
