Dad's new cabin!!!

On Thursday, my family went to the mountains and moved everything into dad's new cabin! The girls and I stayed back because that was Hadassah's track-n-field day at school. Mike and Matthew came home late Thursday night. I kept thinking about going up Friday evening and staying the weekend but Mike kept saying that he's not making that three hour drive up and back again ... a day later. He was completely fine with the kids and I going up because he thought he was needed at one of the shed lots on Saturday.

Well, he called me in the afternoon and said that he isn't needed at the lots after all and asked if he could go with us up???!!!! Of course!!!!!!! I was excited and happy to have Mike join us for the weekend!

The kids came home from school and they packed their bags and couldn't wait!!! Cousins and family were all up there and seeing the brand new cabin would be very exciting! We grabbed a light supper here at home, dropped Ginger off at Sadie's, and headed north at 6:45 PM! I drove. The kids watched Home Alone and Mike relaxed! :)

The cabin is VERY nice!!! Dad did a great job at the design inside and out! It's got wide hallways. A spacious kitchen and living room area! I big back porch. A car port. 8 bedrooms with a few unfinished areas that could be used for sleeping in the future if needed. Mom and Dad lettered each bedroom and put all our names into a basket. Everyone picked a letter and that was our room. We got a room upstairs with two windows. It's great!!! We love it! Mike put a king size bed and single bed into the room. When I got there, I added the sheets, pillows and blankets. We went to Walmart up there and got curtains and a lamp. We need only a small dresser and some wall décor yet and we will call it perfect!

Everyone but John Mike and Mim were up for the weekend. Missed you guys! Daudy and Mommy D. came along up and we enjoyed them there!!!

Food - we had plenty of food for a full breakfast and big suppers. The kids played outside or in the finished basement. The ladies (all but me) and children painted the old porch furniture pieces and made them look like new again!

At 10:00 PM, dad decided to fire up the grill and steam some crab legs! Crazy!

Dad set his self timer on the ipad and took a picture of us all on Sunday afternoon. I then took a picture of the picture. Not the best ... but proof we were all there! :)
