Arizona, Day 4:

Again, I'm not sure why my photos don't come on my blog in order but oh well.

This is what day four looked like on this adventurous family vacation!  We started off getting breakfast at Coffee Pot 101 Omelets.  It was very delicious and it filled our bellies full before taking ATV's deep into cannon/dessert land for a four hour mapped out trail!

We were riding in the hot dessert when Austin feel asleep.  Such a trooper on this trip!!!

I totally loved this day!!!!  I grew up riding four wheelers in the mountains but this was different and a new level of fun for me!  When we say, "We are going to the mountains," what we mean is the forest.  When the people in Sedona say they are going to the mountains, they mean cliffs and dessert! There is a big difference but this was fun!!!!  The weather was hot and we applied lots of sunscreen!  It was so dusty and dry because Arizona did not have any rains since March.  I'm not lying when I say it's dessert there!!!!!  :)

The views reminded us so much of the movie Cars.  We can't wait to watch this movie again as a family because there's just something fun about a cute movie and knowing you were in that type of environment.

We decided to rent two four seater ATV'S.  We knew the older kids would like to drive some through the dessert paths and it was a blast!!!

Here's a photo of our delicious breakfast at Coffee Pot 101 Omletes.  Yep, they really did have 101 different varieties.  I ordered the zucchini, mushroom and spinach one.

We were given a map that would have taken us through the dessert paths for four hours!  Somehow we got turned around and finished it in 3 1/2.  We were totally fine with that though because even though it was super fun, it was also super hot!!!!

We would go flying down one trail and be amazed at the views and then the next turn would be just another spectacular view!!!!  Pictures just don't seem to even describe these incredible sights!

As fun as this was, Ashlyn was having a very difficult day.  The day we left for Arizona, we got the news that her bunny Coca died.  Coca ran off on Saturday night while I left him out to roam while I worked outside.  It was almost dark and I could not find him.  We went to bed and prayed that we would find Coca the next morning.  We laid some fresh carrots and kale beside him pen and went to bed.  The next morning, Coca was right where we hoped he would be.  He was dirty and obviously in the corn field that night.  Anyway, we left early Monday for Arizona and I thought about it that Coca wasn't acting like he usually does.  He barely moved.  Coca died later that day.  Did he eat something in the field that night?  Too much?  Don't know.  We waited to tell Ashlyn until Wednesday morning thinking it would be OK with her but she was so, so sad!!!!  She was so tired and just couldn't stop thinking about her bunny.

She did eventually switch modes and enjoy the ride!

Hadassah chose to start out riding with me.  I chuckled when we took off and she said she picked driving with me because she thought I would go faster than daddy.  This was something that I was totally comfortable with doing and she was right!  I wanted to drive fast.  So we did just that!!!!

Some of the paths took us on the roads but most were in the dry dessert.

I don't know how Austin fell asleep in the hot sun wearing a helmet but he did nap for almost an hour.  Bumpy paths and all!

Receiving some simple instructions, our maps, helmets and googles for the littles and coolers filled with ice and water bottles!

We knew the older kids would want a chance at driving and they had a blast!

We returned back at Sedona ATV Rentals covered in red dust!!!  Mike and I left the older ones in the dust and it was so bad that they had us stop and let their eyes take a few blinks.

This will be a day that we won't forget for a long time!  We absolutely loved this adventurous day!

We got back at the house in Sedona tired and dirty.  We grabbed some sushi and a simple supper from the grocery store and then relaxed on the back porch with this view!!!!
Sedona stole our hearts and we love this VRBO home that's surrounded by the most gorgeous red mountains!
