April is going by so fast and we are constantly finding ourselves turning on the heat, then opening the windows for fresh air to come inside and we even had the AC running for a day and night. This Spring weather is being very up and down. Cold to hot. Then back to cold. I do hope the frost is gone till fall!!!!
Back in December when the children were asking what I want for Christmas, I said dahlia tubers! They had to look them up and I picked out a collection I loved! They arrived just the other week and I have them all planted and tucked in the ground out by the garden! I CANNOT wait to see how they perform!!! This is a gift to me that will give back again and again and I hope to grow these varieties for many years! What a gift!!!!!!
Can you see the heavy frost in the field? I hope this is the last frost of the season!
Then we have the most gorgeous days to walk at the park. You never know if it will be in shorts or pants?
We tried to cover the fruit trees to protect them from the frost but it may have been a fail? One sheet was laying on the ground the next morning. I think the trees are OK!
We covered the garden beds that have foods already popping through the dirt!
Lettuce, Kale, Radishes and Kohlrabi are doing just fine in these temperatures!

I called and ordered the mulch and it came the very next day! Time to work! I have 12 yards of premium bark mulch and one yard of mushroom mulch for the garden!
Last week was a week of fun things! Ashlyn and I went to our church ladies spa night and ladies did nails, facials, pedicures and even got massages! It was a fun night!
Hadassah and I met up at Goodwill once again! This has been really fun for us to do together!
Here I have a container of tubers from last year that I planted into the ground and then my new gifted dahlia tubers from the children I put in the center! I hope this raised bed shows us a lot of beauty this summer!
I love this space!!!!!
We went to the theaters to watch Sight and Sounds movie "A Great Awakening!" This has such a great message and you should watch it!!!!
We took the whole crew!
The weather was so lovely on Thursday that I rushed through my cleaning duty at home and then raced off to the greenhouses! Everything is full and thriving and beautiful! We have so many local greenhouses in our area that I just love to walk through many of them. Over the years, I have found my favorite plants at different greenhouses and I went to a few and bought my flowers for my pots!
Because I wasn't far from Twin Valley Coffee, I grabbed my all time favorite drink ... Cold Brew Lemonade!
It is wonderful to have the garden sprinkler running again!
Flowers don't keep but these from the tulip farm were so pretty!
We have another favorite little coffee truck and their Strawberry Matcha is out of this world!!!!!
We may have ordered three large after intern for Ashlyn and taken one to Hadassah!
Saturday these guys sat in the woods at the cabin hunting for turkeys while enjoyed the Gospel Express Sale!
Austin didn't get to shoot one but Colson did! Making memories!
Saturday afternoon, all of us girls went for another round of Strawberry Matcha with Daisy, Lena and Zayla with us. The kids were over that night and we didn't get to bed till after 12:30 AM because of talking and hanging out! We are in a sweet spot right now with the kids! They come over and chat and play games and watch sports and just be here! Love it!
On Sunday, we yawned through church but went back that night for worship night! So good!!!!
This was a full week of fun things and the weather was lovely! April ... you do surprise us with the weather but the earth is full of blooms and beauty! What a wonderful God we serve!
