There is absolutely no way that I can sum up a whole month of activities into a box of only nine squares and call it a recap but I did choose some of my most memorable moments and here's to document them!
In January, Jeremiah and Hadassah did a remodel on the home they bought and moved in later that month. The kids got a feel of ice skating on the Witmers pond! The kids also made a batch of Kool Aid snow cone syrups and enjoyed eating the snow cones. Arie loves the snow! My dad ended up in the hospital right before Mike and I went on an anniversary trip. I didn't want to leave his bedside and travel to the sunny south but neither did I want our plans to not hold out. Dad was scheduled to have surgery the day we fly back from Florida. We went and Dads surgery date got pushed up and he had surgery the day was left. I cried. I felt like I wasn't doing my part but what could I do now other than enjoy our anniversary and when we get back home, go support my parents. Anna Marie Island was beautiful! Dad made it through open heart surgery and we are happy to care for him as he heals and lives a full life! God is so good!
February is the month of hearts and pink colors! We cheered for those Chiefs as they won another super bowl! We took a family vacation to Sarasota on Valentines Day and enjoyed the south with shark teeth digging, fishing, a photo shoot on the beach and mini golf! Going somewhere warm for a few days during the winter sure helps make the the winter be not so long!
March came and we celebrated Easter and daffodils and Ashlyn's birthday and more time outdoors! Mommy D loves when we visit her! Sight and Sound always do a remarkable job at each show we attend! Daniel was so good! We took a trip to Longwood Gardens and again this place never, ever disappoints me! It's just full of flowers and trees and life! Just gorgeous!
April ... time to work outside and plant the garden and mulch! Baseball started up for Austin and taking those first bites of fresh garden radishes is one of my favorite foods from the garden! The back porch is almost finished and we are excited to spend a lot of time on the porch! I'm also trying to add more protein into my diet as I work out at Empowered Fitness each week. It's only a one day workout class for me but it's just what I need!
May ... Mother's Day, birthday, track and field, baseball tournament, peony flower fields, Mother/daughter event, US Women's Open event and finishing up school were highlights for this jammed packed month!
June ... Father's Day, pool days, a wedding in Ohio that also took us to Top Golf, the Ark Encounter and a Reds VS Red Socks game. The entire weekend was a blast and we barely slept but we sure made a ton of memories! Mike celebrated a birthday and Austin finished up another year of little league!
July ... 4th of July celebrations, Austins birthday, Matthew swings a bat once again, Ashlyn goes to summer camp for a week, Matthew turns 19, a beach trip, cousins swimming day and Ashlyn begins her first year of a baseball league for girls.
August ... the last of pool days and summer treats before school begins. We enjoyed the cabin and Matthew bought a home! We joined the youth for an afternoon of canoeing. The weather was warm and it's always mixed emotions when school begins because then it seems like summer is on its way out.
September ... Mommy Ds auction, dove hunting, cousins, lots of wiffle ball and a tournament, golfing trip, volleyball begins as softball ends, and a football weekend in LA!
October ... New Holland Fair days, Matthew and Daisy are engaged, a quick trip to Florida to clean up from the hurricanes, first time seeing the Northern Lights from our house, Jeremiah and Hadassah are expecting a baby, a For King and Country Concert and the fall colors are stunning!
November ... all things colorful, walks at the park, cousins, Hadassah coaching volleyball and making it to States, Arie had puppies, Election Day, Thanksgiving Day and IT'S A BOY!!!!
December ... hunting, basketball, shopping days, holiday celebrations in our hometown, another quick trip to Florida with most of my siblings and parents to put their house furnishings in place, CHRISTMAS! This is the best season of all!
And just like that, another year is wrapped up and we are in 2025! There's much to look forward to this year! We become grandparents in April! Matthew and Daisy get married in June! Ritchie and Hannah get married in August! Life is a gift and we want to cherish event moment we have together!
Happy New Year!
