ServeNow Weekend in DC.

Mike and I spent the weekend at a ServeNow event.  We learned much more about this mission, stayed at a beautiful hotel, ate well, met new friends and toured!

Friday we drove to Washington DC and went to the Museum of the Bible.  My favorite about this was getting the jewish man that worked there to write down our names in Hebrew and tell us the meanings of our names.  Very cool!  There was a lot to see and love at this museum!

Saturday we got to tour the White House and Capital buildings.  Both were really neat!

Reggie and Lady Smith were the worship leaders at the ServeNow event and loved it!

ServeNow celebrated their 10th anniversary and gave a good game plan for the next ten years.  Many people around the globe are learning more about God's word and spreading the gospel to many!!!

Mike and I got to spend a lot of time together which we absolutely loved!  This busy weekend away was a blessing and so fun!

Tomatoes.

The garden is still thriving with cucumbers and lots of tomatoes.  I usually pick the tomatoes off the stalk and wash them and put in the freezer.  The when I have a lot, I cook them and juice them.  Well, last week it was time to cook all those tomatoes and I made a batch of tomato soup and juiced lots of juice.  It goes so well on the winter day with grilled cheese!

The garden is still looking so good!  It won't be long and I'll be pulling out the plants that are finished giving vegetables but for now, it's still growing tomatoes, a variety of peppers, radishes, lettuce, carrots, kale, cucumbers, herbs and eggplants.

I love the garden!

September.

It is September.  One of my all time favorite months!  Usually, the grass is lush and green but so far it has been super dry once again.  The grass is crunchy and dry.  We need rain!  September is when the days are still warm like summer but the nights cool down like fall!  I love it that way!

Labor Day was spent at the cabin with some of my family.  Mommy D. fell and broke her hip on Thursday and then was taken to the hospital and needed surgery.  I felt so bad for her.  At 87 years old she doesn't need this yet!!!  Mom and Dad decided to not go to the cabin but to stay home and be with her in the hospital.  She did have surgery and is recovering well!  I visited her when we came back from the cabin but she has now been moved to rehab at Tel Hai.  I hope her recovery goes well!!!!

Brother John Micheal said that I should follow him and the boys down the mountain to go see if we could watch the older kids on kaiaks.  The ride down through the mountain was adventurous and not all that easy but the way up was even harder.  We did get to see the kids on the river and the boys loved the water!

I made a batch of these favorite Yum Yum cupcakes to eat at the cabin!  Everyone loves these!!!!

Here's Matthew on his kaiak fishing and loving it!!!!

Jeremiah and Matthew fishing!  Meg and Mel brought along their Crossnet game and it was a hit!!!  Us adults played a lot of it and loved it!!!!

Of course, there were riding toys that the kids rode and loved to!!!!

We missed those that couldn't be with us at the cabin but the games came out late afternoons and evenings.  So fun!

Labor Day Weekend was another fun time at the cabin!
