Ladies Retreat!

It's November and the holidays will soon be here.  I can almost feel that holiday rush come over me but I really do hope to start on those holiday gifts and wishlists soon!  I also really hope that this holiday season will be a simple season of peace and loving and spending a lot of time with the family instead of all the rush and gift wrapping and hustle.  I'm not sure how to balance all of that at times with a growing family and lots of fun things to do all around us but I'm going to try to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas with a heart of worship to my KING!

And here's what I mean when I see a growing family and fun things to do!  Austin was excited to go to basketball tryouts again and we can't wait to cheer his team on!!!!!

We had a Ladies Retreat with the church ladies on Thursday - Saturday and it was so good!  Some ladies were asked to share their life story.  Others shared on marriage.  We laughed and cried!  Priscilla had a makeup morning that was such fun!  We ate yummy foods and drank good coffee!

Honeybrook Community Church has been our home church for over seven years now but the past two years, many families joined our church family and it's been wonderful to get to know these ladies better!

I am so blessed to have these ladies as my friends!

Mike was home with the Littles while I was at the retreat.  Because the retreat was only a 1/2 mile down the road for me, I came home to sleep and get the kids on and off of the bus!  Perfect!

Ashlyn and Mike blew the lawn leaves away on Saturday while Austin was at a birthday party.  I got home late afternoon from the retreat and hoped on the mower!  I sat a lot over the past few days listening, worshiping Jesus and playin the fish bowl game with the ladies into late at night, so it felt good to do some work outside!  Hadassah came over that night and watched a movie with the Littles as we all just relaxed here at home.  She missed Jer when he hunts but we love that she comes to our house to hang out!

Sunday morning, Mike and I both taught Sunday school.  Matthew was at youth cabin having a good time!  We watched some football and relaxed in the afternoon and then attended the "I Heard the Bells" premiere at Sight and Sound!  It was a wonderful date night and a great Christmas movie!!!!

There is much going on these days and I love a Monday morning here at home, getting the house cleaned up, bathrooms cleaned over and some time writing down some shopping lists and looking at our week ahead!

God has been so good to me and I can feel his love and peace!  I am beginning to think of the upcoming holidays more and more and I am excited!  Ashlyn and Austin both made Christmas lists at Meg and Mels house last night and they had twinkles shining in their eyes this morning when we talked about Thanksgiving plans and then Christmas!  Austin said he loves Christmas and his birthday the best!!!!

The sun is shining!  The hear is officially turned on beginning this morning and the dryer is drying our freshly laundered clothes!

Have a blessed week!

Warm days of November.

There has been day after day that are just gorgeous.  Each warmer day, I think OK this is going to be the last warm day before it gets freezing cold.

Well, today was another warmer fall day and it was delightful!

Ashlyn forgot her water bottle for school and so after my morning walk, I drove to school to give it to her.  The trees along the driveway are still full of color!

I grabbed groceries at Strasburg Market Place today and because it was in the 70's, I also grabbed an acie bowl.  I was there in short sleeves and flip flops!

So many leaves were blown away today!  In short sleeves!

Daylight Savings Time has us all rubbing our eyes and yawning right after supper.  I love how it's now day light when I wake up the children for school but having it pitch dark at 5:30 PM is not my fav!

I can't believe that the holiday season is just around the corner.  I have some goals and I hope to have a lot of my shopping completed before December!  Which means, I gotta start thinking about those things soon!

Happy November and what a lovely day to be alive!

Cabin Weekend!

We knew this was going to happen sooner or later.  The leaves are falling and it's time to get them cleaned up!

After all the busy nights of Arise, volleyball finals, basketball tournament and finishing up golf, we could not wait to go to the cabin and REST!

It was just lovely!  Most of my family were up for the weekend and we had the best of times!

Zayla went with us because Lena was a girls trip and she did great!

So much time is spent out in the teepee!

We made chili over the campfire for supper one night!  A fun highlight!

Ginger got to go with us again!

The Phillies are in the World Series and of course the boys had a way of watching it!

Zane had a birthday!  Mim planned a Blippi party!

And the big boys hunted and Tony shot a bear!  How exciting!

I also took Skylar's photos up there!  I have the cutest nieces and nephews!

We ate the best foods at the cabin!  We are blessed and what a gift from Mom and Dad to have this cabin be a place for our entire family to enjoy!

Arise Collective Gala!

November is here and so is the first hard frost.

Each morning, after the children are off to school, I go for my walk!  The photo's I captured last week are stunning!!!!

And this month is going to be lots of apple recipes!  I started with making homemade apple butter again!  It's a simple recipe I found on Pinterest!

These yellow autumn trees are so golden and remind me of heaven must look all the time!!!

We've been super busy with helping out with Arise Collective showing Pilgrim at our church the past two weekends!  It's been a ton of fun!  Mike helped with security.  I lined up meals and stocked the fridge with some of Arise's favorite foods at church!

It was decided to hold a fundraiser for them and this took place last week to!  It was beautiful!  Claudia and Clarita did a great job planning it all out!  Over $100,000.00 were raised to help spread the message of Jesus though Pilgrim!

Jovi did a spread of food that was outstanding!  Loreta made mini pumpkin sourdough breads.

Everything came together beautifully!

Look at these beautiful flowers and foods!

Steve and Ruth catered the meal and Bethel made the cheesecakes!

I got to go with my date!  We loved this fundraiser night!

These past few weeks have been super busy but super life giving!
