Life is full and so sweet!

I knew it was gonna be a crazy week.  When this happens I just have to take a deep breath and focus on one thing a time.  After hosting the youth group on Sunday night, we got the house cleaned up before heading off to Jim Thorpe on Monday morning.  We visited this cute little town Monday and Tuesday and really enjoyed our time together, just Mike and I!  We came back to the kids and off we went first thing Wednesday morning to Austins class chapel!  They did an amazing job and Austin was one of the characters and did great!

They surprised us and the seniors all came walking in for the last song!  So cool!

And because we were not home on Monday and Tuesday, this little guy got to follow his momma to volleyball practice.  Looks like he's just fine!

Then as soon as chapel was over, I went flying up to The Star Barn for the Women's Wellness Collective Day!  The day was packed with great speakers and a timely reminder of how important rest is in our lives!

Meanwhile, the kids loved having Mommy at school with them on grandparents day!

By Thursday morning, I was so ready to walk the park paths again!  This is such a refreshing time for me!

And I was finally back with my little buddy!  Our grandson Gunnar is pure joy!

I did pick up some fresh grape juice and Hadassah came over to help jar it up!  For the first we tried the white juice!  It's delicious!

My family planned to take Dad out for his birthday but because we were already not available to watch Gunnar the beginning of the week, Mike went to the girls volleyball game instead.  The girls made it so districts and this is a big game.  But I was able to join my family and we ate good meats and I made it back to the game just in time to watch the winning game!  Happy Birthday Dad!

I'm feeling like a grandma now that we pull out the old sassy seat and white tipped baby spoon that I used for my babies!  Gunnar can now sit in this seat well and loves to do patty cake!

Those first tastes of sweet potatoes and squash are so funny to watch!  So many faces he makes!

I'm ready to slow down!  I'm looking forward to a restful weekend!  Life is full and so sweet!

Jim Thorpe!

Mike made Jim Thorpe reservations last fall but we ended up postponing the reservation until this year.  We just felt too busy last October to scoot away but we did it this past week!  And it was marvelous!  We cleaned up the house from the youth group activity the night before and took the kids to school Monday morning! From there we drove off to Jim Thorpe like two little love birds ready for a date!!!!

We arrived with pretty views into this small, cute town!

Lunch was eaten at a small pizza shop then we grabbed tickets for the train and took a ride through gorgeous views!

There was an ice cream shop beside the train station and I had to try this Pickle Peanut Butter Sundae.  And it was tasty!  Mike was not sure about it at first but he kept bringing his spoon back for more!

The streets were full of little shops and we grabbed a hot apple cider to sip on as we strolled the town.

Then we hopped on board the trolly tour and was told all about the town!

On Monday the weather was drizzly, so after the two tours, we checked into our beautiful Inn and took a nap.  We had dinner reservations at a local Italian restaurant and the food was so good!  The streets were pretty at night too!

This was the view on the way to dinner!

We woke up to the sun shining brightly and it was gonna be a fun day to go biking, walk around and enjoy each other!

Breakfast first ....

... then biking.  The leaves were so pretty as we peddled up and down the paths!

We got back to town and had a second serving of ice cream!

It was time to check out of the Inn and head back home to the kids!  Something we said for the past years about visiting this little town is now a memory!  Loved it!

So many cute little shops along the way!

I count the orange cars.  Mike counts the green ones.  I won!

This little Christmas shop had the cutest tree ornaments!  Look what he paired together!

This town called Jim Thorpe was exactly what we thought it would be!  A getaway for just the two of us!  Beautiful views of Gods creation!  Good food!  And now we are ready to be back with the kids!

Jim Thorpe you are a beautiful place to go in the fall!
