Italy Trip ... 25th Wedding Anniversary!

Mike and I have dreamt of going to Italy for our 25th wedding anniversary trip!  We planned a lot of details and landed on the dates September 2-10, 2026.  The kids were back to school and at the cabin over Labor Day Weekend with my family while we were off to being tourist.

The kids both had retreats on Thursday and Friday.  I dropped them off at school and kissed them goodbye.  Mike and I were flying out at 4 PM that afternoon.  Jesus protect them!!!!

Mike Good drove us the airport and we were ready to board this long flight.  Almost 9 hours in the air and a six hour time difference was something I never experienced yet.

We arrived safely the next day in Rome.  Sleep was not easy in an airplane seat beside the bathroom that everyone uses all night long but I made it!  We had Urber pick us up and take us to our first motel.  Hotel Relais 95 Trevi.  It was a clean small boutique hotel and at a perfect location!!!!  We dropped off our bags at the hotel and went looking for some breakfast.  It was 9:00 AM there but 1 AM at home and my stomach was not loving that I drank cappuccino and ate eggs in the middle of the night.

We walked around and got right into sight seeing.  The Pantheon was not far down the street and it was massive with huge pillars and a really old historic building.  It was HOT in Rome too!

We found ourselves some gelato and it was our treat every single day!  So refreshing and so delicious!  I loved the basil and lemon flavor!  There are a lot of people in Rome and the streets were packed!  When went back to check in to the hotel and the toilet system in not like ours at home.

We always rested each day at some point.  We started out early.  Walked miles every day and sweated a lot!  The Trevi Fountain is another major attraction and we passed it often as it was just down from our hotel.  We had dinner arrangements to eat at That's Amore and we both got lasagna and it was amazing!

The streets in Rome are cobblestone with tiny cars.  Mike loved shopping at the mens clothing shops.

Meat were hung from the ceiling and cheese.  Smelled funny.

Outside the Pantheon was this creepy looking fountain but there was a water bottle refill spot beside it.  You need lots of water on these to days!

We walked the streets and were so tired after all our travels and walking.  There's much to see and day one was a great start!

Lapp Family gathering.

It's a rainy Saturday night and we decided to go to Freddy's.

The Lapp family got together at Wyler's Park and it was really nice!  The guys cooked up cheesesteak and the kids swam in the pond or played wiffleball.  The day was beautiful!

Ashlyn is back into volleyball at school too!

Sisters.

Austin finished up softball and won the Gold Glove!

Me and by buddy!!!!

September.

We had a rainbow in the east and in the west in one week.

We've been on a Goodwill hunt these days.  The girls and I went to Hudson Botanical for food and then thrifting.

Mike and I went into Brent L Miller to get another ring for me because my diamond feel out of mine but they were closed.  We stopped in at Goodwill instead and found this cute photo.

What a beautiful sky with Austin shooting hoops!

Matt and Daisy's baby shower.

Matthew and Daisy are expecting a baby on September 25 and her mom and sisters threw such a cute little baby shower!  Take a look!

I made the peach cheesecakes and ordered the cookies from cousins Ashley.  So yummy!

The party was a fishing theme!

We can't wait to meet "baby Matt!"

Back to School.

The sunflower patch in the back field is in full bloom and we climbed the barn roof one morning to take a good view of it all!

Matt and Daisy were on a family vacation with the Herrs, so we kept their puppy Isla for the week.

We are back to school too. This means the pool days are over and now we need to set alarm clocks again.

Ashlyn is going into 10th grade.
Austin is now in middle school.
