We are GRANDPARENTS!!!!

Yep, you saw the title!!!!  We are now GRANDPARENTS!!!!

GUNNAR BANKS PETERSHEIM arrived safe and sound after his dear momma went through a long, hard labor.  Gunnar was born on April 4.  He weighted right at 8 lbs.  20 1/2 inches long.  Tiny ten toes and fingers, squishy legs, a little hair and big hands.  He's perfect!  He's adorable.  We are smitten!!!!

Hadassah and I had many discussions about my labor stories and you can try to tell the pain but only until you go through it, you know.  Hadassah helps me clean my house here on Thursdays but because of her scheduled doctor appointment, she asked if she can come Friday.  Sure.  She stopped in here after her appointment and chatted and then went to her house.  Around 5:00 PM, she called me and I thought she was gonna cry.  "MY WATER JUST BROKE, MOM.  I SCARED."  I told her that she will be just fine and the doctors and nurses will help her, Jer will there and it's baby time!  Jeremiah asked if Arie can come and stay till they are out of the hospital and we love their dog, so of course she could come.  He brought her over and we were down at church in charge of spring cleaning.  Whiled we cleaned, it was Mike and I's secret.  Later that night, when we got home from church cleaning, the kids asked why Arie is here but we really didn't give much of an answer and they didn't ask again.  We were sure there would be a baby later that night or in the morning!

At 3 AM, Jeremiah texted us an update and still no baby born but making progress!  Ashlyn got up for school and asked again why Arie is here and she asked, "Is Hadassah in the hospital?"  Yep!!!!  Now she knows!!!!  The kids were off to school and I was waiting for another phone call any minute!  I decided to get to my cleaning since Hadassah obviously wouldn't be helping me.  I finally checked my computer to see if any texts came through because for some odd reason my phone was acting weird with messages.  Sure enough, there were two texts saying that Hadassah is needing surgery.  A C-Section will be performed soon.

Ugh, that was my story with our son Matthew.  In labor, hard labor, pushed and then still needed surgery.  I healed fine and baby was healthy and that's all that really mattered!  I'm sure Hadassah will be saying the thing!!!!!

We finally got a text at 11:51 AM saying that Gunnar was born at 10:36 AM!!!!  Mom and baby are doing fine!!!!  Thank you Jesus!!!!!  What a gift!

I went to Carters to get her an outfit and Mike and I went to meet the little guy and took Jer and Das some foods!  Both were hungry and excited to have this part over!  Now to love, cherish, teach and get to know this little boy will be a lifetime of fun!!!!

I called Fannie Lynn and told Ashlyn that this baby that we've been praying for is born!  Ashlyn had a school event that day and I knew Fannie was there so that's how I got to tell Ashlyn!  Then I called school and asked if Austin can call me because we have a very special announcement to tell him!!!!  He was so happy to hear that Gunnar was born and so of course, after they got home from school and Matthew and Daisy were here after work, we all hopped into the Audi and they all got to meet baby Gunnar!

He's so cute!!!!  He will be forever loved by each of us!!!!

On Saturday, we went to see baby again and my parents were just arriving the hospital to visit too!

Great, grandma, momma and newborn!!!!!!  Gunnar is the first great grandchild for us and I am now a grandma!!!!!

The Petersheim's came home from the hospital on Sunday and Arie was still at our house.  They got settled in and brought this little guy home!!!!!

I've been helping out every day since and it's been so fun!!!!  I did night shift once and Jer and Das are doing a wonderful job at helping each other with a newborn's sleeping pattern!  He's doing well!

I could not help but grab this at the store!  😂

This grandparenting thing and new name title is all brand new for us!!!!  Welcoming baby Gunnar to our family has been a dream come true and Mike and I cannot wait to watch him grow, pray for him, teach him about Jesus and our heritage and traditions and how to play baseball and this little buddy will be so loved!!!!!

We are so proud of Jeremiah and Hadassah and so congratulations and we love this little family!
