We've been having a wet summer and green grass!!!! I love it! It's also been very warm with tempts in the 90s. That hot to me and I'll be ready for cooler weather next month! July is full of garden goodies and beautiful flowers! We have had sunsets that we gazed at until it faded away in the dark. Take a look at what my camera captured!
The Zinnia's are bursting in color right now in the garden!
We've made a lot of Amish Hats! They go so well with watermelon! You spread peanut butter on a Ritz cracker and top it with a marshmallow. Boil for only a few seconds in the oven and enjoy! These roast really fast so do not walk away when you put them in the oven! Stay there and keep your eye on them! As soon as they turn golden brown, enjoy!
The garden foods are ripening and the flower colors to match it is magical!
I planted celery early spring and the celery was actually decent this time around! I tried growing this vegetable in previous years and this time was the best growth! Cabbage, tomatoes and cucumbers fill my kitchen sink!
While Austin was at boys camp, we had painters come to our house and paint the kids bedroom plus a bathroom. After nine years, when we remodeled our home, it was time for a fresh up!
I choose white and it's fresh and looking good! Austin couldn't wait to come home and see how it looks! It will take some time to add things to the walls but it's clean and looking nice!
We have a cat. We call her "Girl". We've had her for over ten years. She's missing a paw from an injury years ago. She birthed a lot of kittens but that's not happening anymore. I really like her around the house. She stands her ground when Arie comes over and lives a good life!
Turning on Italian music when I cook up some tomatoes will be great!
We had the Lapp Family over for a Low Country Boil and we ate outside in the back yard! Some meals are meant to be eaten messy and outside! Mike did a great job cooking the food over the camp fire and it was delicious!
You cook the foods, lay it out on the table and eat with your fingers! It's so good!
Then the little ones roasted marshmallows on the campfire for dessert!
I cut flowers from the garden to add to our tables outside!
Gathering with the Lapps had us remembering Dad Lapp! He passed away into eternity seven years ago. We miss him a lot! Life keeps moving on fast and there are more grand babies since his passing and weddings and celebrations! It's on nights like this that I wish he was still with us!
