Florida family vacation 2020 - final post

This is what happens when I wait to post something like a family vacation until we come back home. The posts get long and I barely write because again I’m posting these from my phone and I do not like peeking away on my phone. I’d rather be on a computer but Mikes laptop is not available and my computer is about to see its last days. 😫

So, here’s to wrapping up the last of our fun family vacation in the sunshine state! None of us .... did I say none of us ... were ready to head back home! It was super nice to be gone for 12 days and only have the children off of school for 4 1/2 days!!!! They had some winter days off of school plus president weekend!!!

I just don’t like the way my phone scrambles my photos on my blog but I’m not sure I can help that???

I loved the trees in Florida! The palms are always a favorite of mine!!! The large low branch trees with moss on them are just beautiful!!! The street we loved along while we were on vacation had the most gorgeous trees! I want to take some photos on the street with Ashlyn and Austin!!!

Back when we really fed the house for vacation, we didn’t know our exact dates. When we ordered the plane tickets, I immediately emailed those dates to our host but we were too late. We had to find a place to sleep on our last night in Pinecraft. Bummer. This was a scramble and I would never want it like this again. I did all work out but it was stressful. And who wants stress on vacation? No thank you!!!!

Mikes uncle redid Daudy Kings house last year and we were blessed to be able to use the upstairs for our last night!!! Matthew and Jeremiah had to sleep on Mom Lapps couches. That part worked out well but it was the packing up, sending some things home with Matt and Lena, getting g our beach chairs in Ervin’s trailer and giving any food away we still had left in the house. I messed up and shopped Costco soon after we arrived and had some excess of snacks and foods left over. Next time, I’m only shopping smaller amounts at a time!

We took our breakfast foods to Mom Lapps house thinking we would eat breakfast there our last morning. Turns out we ended up at Mommy Ds house! The kids loved this! They played a simple game of Rook on her floor while I washed up the dishes!

The older kids went straight to the beach in the morning! Vics and Gerald’s were both down and the kids wanted to hang out with them before flying home. Hadassah texted me and asked if there’s any way we could cancel our flight!?!?! 🥴 we were not ready to leave the warm weather!! But there does come a time to head home.

We grabbed a bite to eat at the local pizza shop and then ice cream to go! We had a small panic as Hadassah searches and finally found her ID before heading to the airport!

All aboard!!!!

Biking around town on our last day there!

Matt Lapps arrived in Florida a few days before we had to head home. We did get to spend one full day on the beach with them!!! We love this family so much and we dream of vacationing together some day!!!

Ashlyn decided to not get ice cream but instead wanted to wait for a drink from Starbucks at the airport.

The window seat is always my choice!!! Look at the sky from the sky!!!

Someone was very tired after our last beach day!!!

Matthew has to catch up on school work on the flight home!!!

The flight home went well!!! We are now back north and currently freezing! We grabbed a late supper at Chick-fil-A and then home by 8:30! Hadassah took Jeremiah back to his house while we got the heat cranked up and the kids tucked into their beds!

Thank you Florida for being such a fun spot to vacation and get sun kissed skin and collect sea shells and eat the yummiest foods!!!! Most of all I’m grateful for our health down there and for the good Lord to allow us this trip!!!

I love family vacations!!!!!

Until next time Florida!!!! We love you!!!
