MARCHING toward Spring!!!!

We are at the place of a new season about to begin.  The snow is almost all melted.  A few small piles here and there yet but we can see the grass again and the gardens are no longer snow covered!  We are ready for Spring to arrive and can't wait for the weather to warm up!

I'm finding that the wedding plans kinda go in spurts.  When we got back from our sunny vacation, it was time to open up these helpful planners and get to the next thing on the list!  The guys got fitted for their suits!  The girls are measured for their dresses and the order is going in tomorrow!  Wedding invitations are ordered.  A bridal shower is quietly being planned.  Things are moving along!

And, if it's a sunny day, I'm thinking of the garden!  I'm ready to plant some seeds and get the ground worked it once again!  I made a stop at Royers Seeds the other day and grabbed some radish, carrots, cucumber seeds, etc..  I'm hoping to get the early seeds in the ground this week!

I placed an order from Eden Seeds the other week for the first time and I received them!  Mike has talked about planting a wild flower garden for years.  When Mom and Dad gave us a small garden tiller for Christmas this year, I thought that this might be the perfect tool to make this happen!  I'm not sure how it's all going to look like but we are going to till some ground and scatter some seeds!!!!

The other day was Doctor Seuss birthday and I thought this picture that Austin drew was so cute!

We are at the end of Matthew's basketball games and the beginning of Ashlyn's!  Linville is giving the younger grades a chance to shine in basketball and they had their first practice last Monday and played their first game on Friday!  Ashlyn is so excited about this!

And here's a quick photo of how the garden is looking now.  The snow is melted and it's soon ready for me to get working!

One of the first signs of spring is pussy willow branches start to bud!  I couldn't resist these when I drove past a bucket along the road holding fresh willow branches!  I stopped and bought two bunches and I love how it's a reminder that spring is coming!!!!

Austin wants to collect cans!  He loves to crush them with the can crusher thing my dad gave to Matthew years ago.  The other day Matthew was wanting to hop on his four wheeler, so he took Austin up and down the street and they collected the trash cans along the road.  Austin also paid $5 of his own money to buy soda cans for the shop guys to buy and drink and then give the empty cans back to him to crush!  It's so cute to see him grow up and want to do little things like this that make him feel big.

Like I said, Matthew finished up his basketball season last week with playing in Districts!!!!!  The team did well and made it this far!  They did lose but gave it a good game!  Now this season ends for Matthew and Ashlyn has a few games coming up!

Ashlyn's first basketball game was on Friday night!  Linville VS Dayspring!  It was so close the entire game and half the time for Refs for helping the kids figure how to play the game!  :))).  Fourth and Fifth graders were all about the competition and actually playing a real game even though they don't nearly know all the rules yet!

See the couches were trying to help out when substitutes were added!

These girls did great!  The boys and girls play on the same team and there are lots of kids on the team!  But it makes for some good cheering, good fun and great exercise!!!!!!

I finally took our momma cat to get spade!!!  She's had one litter of kitties after the next!  She's a good cat but we are so tired of so many kittens to try to give away!  I found out about a place that only charges $35!   Yesterday, Austin and I drove the momma cat (we call her "girl") to this clinic.  Ashlyn wrote a note and really didn't want this done if she was already pregnant!  Neither did we.  The vet checked the momma cat and she was not pregnant!  She got spade and when I picked her up last night, we were told that she actually had a ruptured uterus and it was a good thing we brought her when we did.  If she would have gotten pregnant, she may have died.  She's a good cat and we like having her around.  Now she needs to heal and the baby kitties are down to an end for us!

The weather forecast for this week is looking lovely!  We might even make it up to 70 degrees by tomorrow.  This is why spring weather is a tease for me but when it starts to get warmer and not colder with each passing week, that's what I like to hear!

Cheers to getting some outside work started!  Maybe the radishes will get planted soon!!!!!

Have a great week!
