Family Outing in the winter!

I did not plan a family vacation this winter but I still wanted to do something fun!  I knew there was a Lego Land somewhere in Philadelphia and Matthew loves Legos and the place looked exciting!  We also wanted to take the kids to a Flyers game!  So, we planned a day to be spent in Philly!

We met at our house and got my dad's sprinter van and we headed down towards Philadelphia at 11 AM.  (The ladies cleaned offices first in the AM.). We drove to the Lego Land and this huge giraffe greeted us at the entrance!!!!!

Lego Land is inside a mall and there was a store and then tickets to go into a museum to build with legos, see more creations out of Legos and tour this place of wonder.  It all looked amazing but we changed our minds about doing the tour and buying tickets for each of us.  This would have been super fun do as when the kids were smaller.  Now, they just wanted to look and not build so instead we walked around the mall and the littles did a bungee jumping activity!  They loved that!  This German shepherd dog made from Legos was very cool!!!!
 

We hopped in the van and drove to Reading Terminal Market!  I couldn't wait to show the kids around this market!  This was the first market that I worked out helping Daudy D in his drink stand!  It's still my favorite to visit!!!!

Uncle Sam and Anthony have the chicken BBQ stand there and we were given tons of wings for free!  We grabbed some drinks at Javon's drink stand!  Uncle Alvin and Keith gave us free chocolate covered strawberries and fudge!  Aunt Ruth said, "Merry Christmas" and left each of us pick something out from their candy stand!  Then, she gave us a box of donuts .... for free!  We ate BBQ ribs and cheesesteaks and gyros!  We had the time of our lives!!!!

We grabbed fresh carrot juices and smoothies and I got Matthew to take a shot of wheatgrass!

The market experience was SO FUN!!!!  Everyone loved it!

Back in the van and we were heading to the Flyers arena!  But, we were going to be a bit early and I quickly had Hadassah look up the Chiefs Corner Saloon that I knew was somewhere in the city.  (I forgot my phone on the charger at home.  Being all day without my phone was actually fun!  I just had everyone else take photos and look up information for GPS and parking!).  We didn't have far to this place and I just wanted Mike to get a chance to see this place!  

We pulled up curbside and Mike ran inside to check it out.  We didn't think the kids would be aloud to enter but when the owner heard that we were Chiefs fans they told us to park right along the street and all come in for a photo!

It was a tiny corner filled with all things Chiefs!  It was a bar so we were not going to be hanging out there long but it was cool to see!

The owner gave them each a sweatshirt with the Chiefs logo on it!!!!

Then we were off to the Flyers game!!!!!!  This was the first for the girls to watch a live game here in Phillie!  We ate Chickie Pete fries and cheered!!!!

Its always so fun when the team you are cheering for wins!!!!!!!

It was a looonnng day!  The snow came while we were watching the game and we drove home on icy roads.  It was midnight before we got to bed.  

BUT ... we had the best day!!!!!  We laughed and enjoyed each stop so much!!!!  I am so blessed to have a family that loves to be together and do outings like this!!!!!
