Spring time is exciting around here!!!

We have been so busy with our spring projects here at the house!!!

The front walks and back porch are now poured, sealed and looking great!!!  Thanks to Jay and Ryan for working hard to make this happen!

Austin loves looking at books ... especially the animal pages!!!  I hope he will soon be making the animal noises after me!

Mike's been out evenings this week working on the raised beds!!!  He got old railroad ties from his parents for free but after having them all set out, he decided to go get new ones.  He thought that it would better in the long run to have good ties!  Me too!!!  :)

And while he worked hard to move these heavy railroad ties, we watched and waited till it was our turn to help him!  Austin was outside with us too and loved his skid loader rides and even feel asleep in it!  I plopped him in the field right next to the gardens last night and took some quick pictures.  He was dirty.  He was happy to be outside.  And I'm convinced that my quick, snap shots make the best pictures!!!  :)

Matthews job is too get all these cut branches moved back to the burn pile!

Yesterday, Ashlyn, Austin and I went to the greenhouse and bought our garden vegetables!  So much fun!!!  Then last night, dirt got dumped into the raised beds, Matthew put on the fertilizers and Ashlyn and I planted!!!  Team work!

She loves this and I left her plant all the lettuce by herself!!!

We have four beds and they are now filled with seeds and foods!!!

This morning we went out garage saling with Jody!  Always fun!!!  Then we put Austin in the swing for the first time this afternoon.  He giggled and giggled!

Oh, the fun these two have together!!!

April 9 snow!!!

Yes, that is right ... I said April snow!  Yesterday while the concrete crew was pouring our front walks and back patio step, it started to snow.  They sat in their truck for a little while the big white flurries danced in the air.  It wasn't long before they were at work again and we now have front walks and a big back patio!!!  We are going to make so many fun memories on the back porch!!!  I just know that it will be Austin's favorite spot all summer!

I was hoping yesterday to mow our tiny grass strip but I don't ever remember mowing while it snowed, so I waited.  :)  The forecast said that there will be more snow showers in the morning.  Some were saying 3-5 inches and others said only a dusting.  If it were up to me, I would be more than happy to say good bye to snow for a long time now!

And, right now, as I type, it is snowing big white flurries outside again!!!  I do think that maybe the kids could make a small snowman but so far, they are content inside.  Landon and Sophie are here to occupy them.  :)  They were here over night and Ashlyn was looking so forward to having a sleep over with Sophie!  It's sad to say that Ashlyn is now not feeling well.  All week she kept complaining of her head hurting.  No fevers really.  She took a few naps and then seemed to be fine again.  But, last night she started with a fever and threw up once.  I guess that nasty fever bug is trying to enter our home!  We've been healthy all winter and I was happy to skip out on any flu bugs!  Join us in praying for Ashlyn!

Snow in April ...

Also, we are so happy to now have a back patio and front walks.  This has been the project for this week!  Only a few touch ups need done and this project is complete!

Austin loves looking at books and especially this one!!!  Animals and I make their sounds!

Have a great weekend!!!  Stay warm!  :)

Austin is now 9 months old. Ashlyn turns 5!

Austin is already 9 months old.  We could not imagine our lives without him.  So much has happened since he was born and we count them all blessings.

Austin's favorites right now are:  nuk and blanket, 7 oz. formula in his bottle, baby cereal mixed with fruit, cheerios and being where the action is!!!  He loves to carry on with the kids and Mike.  He can do patty cake and giggles.  He has his fourth tooth breaking through.  Two on the bottom, two on the top.  I wish I could say that this momma is sleeping like a bear in hibernation but no!!!  More like an owl perched on a branch and is alerted at any cry or motion!!!  :/  Austin is keeping me VERY humble when it comes to his sleeping pattern at night.  Something I thought I had down pat with our other babies.  I blame living in the basement and not letting him cry it out a few times when he was younger.  Because he slept right beside our bed in the basement, I jumped at every squeal.  If I didn't, everyone was awake!!!  Sigh.  It's now much harder to get this kid trained to sleep well at night!!!  I will keep trying.  I will press on.  I will not give up!  :)  Austin loves, loves it outside and I can't wait for the weather to get warm again and take him out!  Mike gave him a ride on the mower and skid loader a few times already and he LOVED it!  He cries when we walk towards the door and not go outside.  He is moving into 12 months clothing but still in size 2 shoes.  I am guessing he weighs around 18 pounds.  He crawls all around the house and that called for us to put the gate by the basement steps.  He also walks along furniture and crawls up the one step between the living room and kitchen with ease.  It's so cute to see him crawl from place to place!!!

We love this little man so much!!!  We couldn't be more thankful for this special gift of life God blessed us with!!!  Take a look at Austin at 9 months old.

Soccer Season now begins.

Hadassah had her first soccer game for this season yesterday.  The weather was decent but windy.  Austin, Ashlyn and I watched from the Yukon for most of the game.

Hadassah likes sports.  Soccer is fun for her.  This game is really a workout for her and it gets her all set for upcoming track!!!  All the extra running will help when it gets time to compete against other schools!

Hinkletown VS Linville.  We lost 6-2.  Hadassah was happy to be the one to score their two goals!!!  Good job girl!!!

This little man loves it outside!!!

One of the cutest cheerleaders I know!!!  :)

Good game!
