Ramp ...

I am so relaxed this morning with hearing the rain fall outside.  The windows are all rain splattered.  It's just pouring and I am enjoying the thought of not being pressured to really do a thing!

Usually, when I wake up, I do devotions and have quiet time with God first thing.  I love reading scripture and praying when the house is still quiet and the children are still sleeping!  It feels good this morning knowing that I'm not needing to get right to my chores.  The laundry was done yesterday.  The yard needs mowed, but not in the rain.  I should go for a run, but again not in the rain!  The carpets didn't get swept yet from the weekend events but that will wait till the children are awake.  So, here I sit typing with my coffee half drank and the radio on softly!  Love it!

I do hope that the rain won't last all day!  We are ready for a straight week of sunshine and pool days!!!  It seems like our days in the sunshine and water have been too few and not near enough!  The kids are counting down the days till school begins.  We know that summer vacation is winding down quickly and when the school doors open, the pool doors will close for us.  So, bring on sunshine and warmth!  Just for a few more weeks please!!!!!!!  (Or till Spring comes again!  :)  )

Talk about school starting up soon ... Hadassah is always ready!  She's got her school supplies all organized neatly in her new back pack.  She's ready to see her great school friends and is both excited and nervous about beginning middle school!  Matthew, on the other hand, is counting down the days, but not because he's that excited but rather that he wants more summer vacation!  Matthew likes school and has great friends too but would still rather be at home playing ball, riding his four wheeler and being on his own schedule.  He too has his school supplies ready to go.  He will enjoy this week at home and at the pools to his fullest!  :)

Here is one reason Matthew loves summer vacation!  He wanted some kind of ramp for his bike and rip stick.  Mike usually goes all out with projects with the kids when they actually get to it.  :)  The other evening, Mike brought some lumber along home from the shop.  Matthew was excited and ready to dig in.  It was already getting late and so they decided to build it the following night.  They worked good together.  Mike showed Matthew some carpentry skills and together they made a ramp!  A big ramp!  Too big!  After they had it all built and stood back to admire their hard work, they chuckled at the size!  It was steep.  Too steep for a rip stick!  So, the next few days Matthew and the girls just played on it by sliding down the ramp.  Mike and Matthew, ended up cutting some of the ramp and making it not so steep.  It's ready now for some action!

Enjoy the indoors and the rain drops today!
