Mulching crew!

What a wonderful feeling to say that our 20 yards of mulch is no longer on one big pile but its nicely spread over the flower beds and making the outside looking great!!!

Last week, our mulch got delivered but we were waiting for the weather to turn warmer and I just wasn't in a big hurry to get it all done this time.  It's so much work, hard work, but this time with a few extra helping hands and Mike using the tractor, it went so much better!!!

I used to scoop one shovel full at a time and dump it on the wheelbarrow and slowly push it to the flower beds and dump it.  Spread it.  And then do that about a hundreds times over!  My back would be sore and the muscles that weren't used to that kind of hard work, got woken up!!!  This time, Mike used the tractor that is at our house and till he went and scooped up another mulch pile, we already had it spread out and ready for the next dump.  Mike's mom came over for supper and then helped us.  I told Hadassah that she needs to stay home and help.  That must have meant to her to call Jess and tell her to come too because Jess helped us mulch some too!  :)))  Then to top it off, my parents both came around 8 and helped us finish up.  Mom brought us some freshly brewed meadow tea!!!  It's the first for the season and it tasted so good!!!  Dad also brought a huge log to burn, so Matthew got the campfire started and we after it was dark and the mulch was done, we roasted some marshmallows and made smores.  Suddenly, it felt like summer was here!!!  It was still warm outside and the children were running bare feet all evening.  The campfire smoke smelled like summer camp outs.  The roasted smores melted and tasted great.  The fresh meadow tea just tasted so refreshing!!!

Many thanks to our crew for their hard work!!!

We have a little bit of mulch left to do yet but that will wait for a bit later.  We have a campfire area with a gazebo.  Over the years, a few pine trees died off and were cut down.  We would now like to move the gazebo back a tad.  The rest of the mulch will then be put around that area!

I also went to the greenhouses once again yesterday and bought just a few more flowers.  The front porch pots are now planted for summer!!!

Spring work is hard work!  I'm so happy to have this project almost completed!!!

I love this time of year!!!
