Lazy, fun summer days!!!!

We’ve been enjoying our lazy summer days SO much!!! We had a week family vacation scheduled to go to the cabin but because of it burning down and now being rebuilt, we had to cancel that trip. Our summer calendar has never been so freeing and non pressing! We have one day after the next without anything written in my calendar and what’s a more enjoyable summer than not being so crazy busy! The kids and I have been sleeping in most mornings! We help each other with the house chores and head to the pool. Not every day but often! I’m at the stage in life without diapers, Austin still naps but can go without if that’s how the day ends up to be, everyone can grab a towel at the pool and only one more kid to teach how to swim!!! 👍🏻

Mikes helping Thunder play modified ball this summer and it’s fun to watch. For years and years and still more years, Mike played slow pitch and we watched! This fast pitch game is different but also fun! The other night Mike got hit with the ball three different times! 🙈 None of them were serious blows and no black and blue marks but still hurt. I’ve been saying each time we went to the ballpark that I want to take some photos of the kids along the pretty park paths! We did that the other evening with Ashlyn while Austin tagged along. We were just heading back to the ballgame when Austin got stung by a bumble bee. Through his sock of all things! He cried but was brave! Then just last night, he got stung again as we were visiting mom Lapp. This time in the hand. His immune system should be boasted because Mommy D often said, “A bee sting every summer is good for your immune system!” Again, he cried but was brave! This time it was a yellow jacket.

We invited my side of the family to go along to the pool after we took Mom out for her birthday last week! Happy birthday mom!!! Gracies has great food and the pool day was refreshing!!! It didn’t suit everyone but those who couldn’t join us missed out!

The garden is thriving! I have no idea why but my zucchini plant is growing both white and green zucchini.?.? Never had that happen before. The green beans will soon be sprouted blooms and then grow beans! Tomatoes are hanging! I planted fennel for the first so we will give that some time to grow before harvesting!!! The pumpkin plants are coming out of the soil!!! I just love to plant seeds and watch it all grow! I made a big bowl of coleslaw on Saturday to take along to a fun outing with church friends!!!! The cabbage and carrots were from the garden!!!

Ashlyn and Austin have been playing so nice this summer! They set up a beach party on Saturday on the driveway. They check the chickens often! They did the slip and slide the other day. They swim and splash together! They ride Jeep, play school, chase the kitties and make tents inside with blankets! I just love how they play so well!!! That’s why I sighed the other day when the school papers came through the mail!!! Who would ever want to think about school schedules yet???

The dining room table is getting a weekly dose of fresh flowers!!!! Sunflowers last week and hydrangeas this week!!!! I love it!!!!

Summer is the time to work hard, then swim, then relax in the sunshine, eat ice cream and spend evenings around the campfire! We even read devotions around the campfire twice last week with the kids!!! I’m living the best life ever!!!

I love summer!!!!
