Labor Day weekend was spent at our favorite cabin in the woods once again! Jeremiah was in a baseball tournament and was meeting us at the cabin later that weekend so Ashlyn and Austin rode up with Hadassah and Gunnar! There was so much traffic but Mike and I were the only ones in the truck and we acted like young love again as we stopped for our first pumpkin lattes of the season and listened to oldies music as we drove up the seven mountains! I love moments like these!!!!
Family is always welcome at the cabin but it didn't suit everyone this weekend. Those of us who were there played a lot of bad mitten games! We ate such good foods! We sipped on hot cider as we sat around the campfire! The boys set traps!
Mike hauled up a tree stand and got it all ready for when hunting season comes along! Austin can't wait!
My dad has the wood crew going through his land and cutting down tons of trees! I mean tons! The woods almost look bare compared to what it was like just a few weeks ago! The boys loved playing on this ginormous pile of wood chips!
Mim was saying how she did the hero workout on Friday and I wanted to watch Matthew and Mike do this! I knew they could! It would not be easy but I just wanted to hear them finally say that they have sore muscles. Every week when I workout, I'm sore. Mike just doesn't get sore! So they did it!!!!
So many pushups and squats and sit-ups. I would have been crying from pain but they did it!!!!
I did help with the very last squats of 125! My legs are still sore!!!!!
Hummingbirds everywhere up there! So pretty!
Always good food at the cabin!
The men split wood and the boys helped fill the wood shed!
We love golf carts rides at the cabin!!!!!
And the little boys couldn't wait for their dads to take them fishing down by the river! Young and old love this place!!!!!
Labor Day is the last of summer holidays and the beginning of fall! We came home to September on our calendars and fall in the air! I just love how it's cool in the mornings and evenings and warm in the afternoons!!!!!
Welcome fall time!
