July Foods!

July ... green grass because God is blessing us with rains!  Tall corn fields, an amazing wheat field across from our house is being harvested, a bean field behind our property is thriving and so is our garden!  Here's a post of some of the things we are enjoying this lovely month of July!

Arie is living here at our property until Jeremiah and Hadassah take her to their forever home they just bought!!!!  We are so excited for them!  Ashlyn loves Arie and spends quite a bit of time with her outside!

The front porch is showing off its red, white and blue themes!

Some favorite foods this month are ... the newest BBQ sauce from Costco that we all love!  Austin loves it with chicken nuggets!  I made a chilled cucumber soup that was tasty!

We have lots of zucchini growing in the garden and I love this zucchini casserole!

Cucumbers is a vegetable that I have in the fridge year around but let me tell you that there's nothing better than a garden fresh cucumber!!!!  Lot's of them being picked these days too!

Fresh green beans!

I made a batch of fresh garden lavender syrup!  The house smelled amazing and this stuff is strong and delicious!  You only need a small bit to add to your cup of lemonade and it turns into a beautiful, wonderful tasting drink!!!!  We have lavender plants on ether side of Ashlyn's playhouse and its gorgeous right now!!!

Here's the best ... garden fresh zucchini and eggplants!
Peaches, tomatoes and plums that we picked up at a produce store nearby!

We pick cucumbers daily.  Here's another batch of sweet dill pickles being made!

I just love the sound of can sealing on my kitchen counter!

The carrots are growing but still small.  We keep pulling a few out of the ground to enjoy!  Hadassah gave me a recipe that calls for watermelon, mint, lime juice and cucumbers.  We've been loving the combination!!!!  So very delicious!

And we are picking the first of our very own Red Haven Peaches!  We planted a few fruit trees last year and I'm very pleased with the fruits on the trees!!!!

"Eat the colors of the rainbow" they say!!!!  Red, yellow and orange watermelons it is then!  And those canary melons are great too!

Another garden haul ... green beans are starting now!

I walked to the garden before we headed to the cabin and picked us some fresh veggies!  Kale, there's so much of it out there!  Red beets that Ill add to a smoked sausage dish!  String beans will be our vegetable for dinner!  Peppers, sweet and jalapeño!  An onion for sautés!  Cucumbers for fresh eating!  When we got home from the cabin, this was our pickings!  Ashlyn picked a 14 inch cucumber!  We are so incredibly blessed!!!!

The garden is doing so well this summer!  I'm blown away at how many peaches are hanging on our one year old trees.  The cucumber vines are great!

Hydrangeas and dahlias are blooming!  I was excited to see the first sunflower open up!

And we have tons of honeybees!!!  It's the first I planted a white pumpkin vine and the bees are all over it!!!!  They swarm from the pumpkin blooms to the cucumber blooms to the lavender!  It's amazing!!!!

My little garden is such a blessing to me!!!!

Thank you July for being such a delicious month!
