Summer events = church campout and pool fun.

We had a church camp out weekend last weekend and we all had fun!!!  We are still putting names to faces and making new friends.  That's what comes along with going to another church.  We are really enjoying it at Honey Brook Community and the people there have been so welcoming and wonderful to our family!  Many, many thanks!

The camp out started on Friday night.  Hot dogs and hamburgers were served with other side dishes provided.  Mike and Matthew were together all day on a site check and on the way home, they stopped for a small tent to sleep in.  :)  Mike is not a camper but he knew Matthew would love it!  After the campsite was set up, we sat down for some supper and a gigantic camp fire!!!  It was so big and hot that to roast any marshmallows was a chore.  You just could hardly get close enough to roast your marshmallow.  :)  It was a late night.  The girls and I came home to sleep and we left Matthew and Mike sleep in the tent.  I wasn't in bed long before Mike texted me "I'm laying on a tree root.  This is going to be great."  Then he texted, "I love you so much but let's not be campers."  :)  Matthew had called up his church friend Dante' and asked him to come camp out with them.  Matthew and Dante' finally snuggled in under the tent after 1 AM!  They had a blast!

Saturday morning, Mike had to leave early for work.  Matthew and Dante' were fed by the next door church campers.  French toast and bacon!  Thanks Sonia!  :)  Then he called me and asked me to bring him his fishing line and equipment.  The girls and I went to some yard sales so after lunch, we took the boys some fishing gear.  They fished all afternoon and evening.  What a blast!  Meanwhile, the girls and I sat by the campground pool.  Mike met us at the campground again Saturday evening.  More food was served and another enormous camp fire was built!  We enjoyed the talent show and skits.  Again, the boys slept in the tents while the girls and I came home to our soft beds.  A momma at 8 months pregnant just isn't going to sleep in a tent if it's not necessary!!!  Thank you!

Ashlyn loved the pool even if the water was really, really cold!!!

These two boys just hit it off.  Matthew made a great friend.  Dante' loves, loves to fish, hunt and be outdoors so this goes well with Matthew too!!!  They had such a blast all weekend!  Their little tent worked great for them!  :)

Crazy talent show skit!!!  :)  Gotta love Mr. Petersheim!!!  :)))))

Sunday morning, we all met at the campground for church.  Again, Matthew was served eggs from the next door campers fire.  Thanks Caleb and Melanie for cooking.  :)

There was a devotional.  Then some singing from The Daniel Glick Trio.  Then John and Suz shared some of their story about Damien's journey of fighting cancer.  Keep praying for them.  Even though his treatments and cancer is over, there are still so many new normals to get used too.  This was a special time of tears and praying for the family.  Love you guys!!!  Lunch was served in the pavilion and then some played volleyball, basketball, went fishing, swam or went to the play ground!

Hadassah playing volleyball.  I was asked to help, but turned it down.  :)))
Ashlyn loved the swings and going high!
With strawberries growing in the garden, I topped small brownie bites with a marshmallow icing and a strawberry for lunch.

Mike twisted Ashlyn around for me to take a quick picture!

The girls enjoyed the pool!

The whole weekend was fun.  It was also two late nights in a row so when we came home with camp fire smelling clothes and fishy smelling boy clothes, we were ready for showers and relaxation!!!  :)  Many thanks to those who planned this weekend and made all the arrangements!!!

We are having a summer week with really warm tempts!!!  Annie told us to come to her pool on Monday.  I had my OB/GYN appointment and now baby's surgery date is planned and anticipated!  :)  We didn't get to the pool till 2 in the afternoon, but it was still hot and worth it.  We took Jody's kids along with us.  What a splash they all had!

We also went to Nickle Mines pool on Wednesday.  I told the kids that we may as well enjoy all the pool days together in June because after that I can't promise any long pool days.  Baby dear will be arriving in July!

So here we go ...

Ashlyn loves the kiddie pool there!  Even though I packed us a lunch, Matthew was still in the snack stand line for a snack.

Hadassah was invited before this to go to the pool with Courtney and some school girl friends.  I made sure it was OK with her ... but we all went to the pool.  It was a hot day and the girls had fun together while Sherry and I chatted by the pool side.

Thanks Courtney for inviting Hadassah and being such a good friend!

This was Ashlyn and this was me.  She loved the toys and water.  Me - well, my feet were propped by the pool side with my baby belly still growing!

Ashlyn was surprised to see so many of her old church friends also come to the pool!!!  This was her and Alaina!

Sherry went to Rita's for the girls and what a treat it was on such on a hot day!!!

Summer is here!  The AC is turned on.  The pools are busy.  We are eating watermelon and fresh strawberries and home grown sugar peas!!!  We love summer time!!!!
