Baby is now 8 months old ...

Austin is eight months old and growing!  We love him to pieces even though he takes up so much of our time and is even demanding at times!  I love him with all my being and try to not get discouraged on the days when all I 'feel' like I get done is care and entertain him.  It's only a stage.  A stage that only last for a few blinks in life and so I keep reminding myself to enjoy him and the baby stuff immensely!  When I have this aspect in mind, my days of mothering go much better!!!

Austin has discovered his mobile skills quickly in just the past few weeks!  He pulls himself up a lot!  He loves the toy mom gave him for Christmas and that's the toy that he pulls himself up to all the time.  But then he doesn't know what to do after he is finished playing with the toys.  He stands there and cries for help to sit back down.  He is also taking some steps and moving his little feet when he can.  Just on Sunday, Mike was sitting on the living room floor with him and he pulled himself up to a standing position.  He grabbed Mike's arm and took a step towards the center entertaining cube right beside them.  He slowly shuffled his feet over and grabbed a hold of it and moved himself over.  It's what you call 'baby steps' but it's so cute to us.  I think he's way too little to do this yet but again ... we keep saying, "Just get this kid on wheels!"  He is aggressive and I think he will beat the family record with walking the earliest!?!  Last night, he was in the living room and climbed up the one step and crawled into the kitchen.  It took him long and he grunted and tugged but he did it.  It won't be long before I will be putting a gate by the basement steps.  And then it won't be long that he will going the steps.  :) 

He still likes his momma the best (thank you) and often starts crying if he hears me talking or when I walk past him (no thank you).  He wants me to hold him and give him my time.  He absolutely loves his daddy to!!!  He will go to him anytime!  Then it's Ashlyn.  He thoroughly enjoys when she wakes up in the morning and they snuggle on the couch or the living room carpet.  He sits beside her as she watches Peppa Pig.  She can entertain him so well!!!  Then it's Matthew!  Austin loves to hold Matthew's watch.  Often times in the morning when I wake Matthew up for school, Austin is already awake.  So Austin lays beside Matthew in his bed until he gets up!  So cute.  He loves Hadassah too but the two of them are 13 years apart and I think the older Austin gets the more they will connect!  Our teenager is NOT thinking anything baby right now and is instead texting and hanging out with her friends!!!  It's the way life should be!!!  :)

It's a real joy to see our "little man" grow and learn new things.  We keep trying to get him to do pattie cake but not yet.  I keep checking his mouth for teeth!  Last week I felt some bumps and just this morning I can finally feel a tooth.  You can only see a teeny bit of it but it's coming!  On the bottom gums.  He might just pop two bottom teeth right after the other.  He chews on his nuk and blanket a lot!  He makes funny noises with his mouth.  When we cough, he makes a coughing noise.  When we make a sound like a truck and go "brummmmmm", he perks his lips and does it too.  How cute and darling he is! 

 

Eating foods is coming ... slowly.  Cheerios ... yes he loves them!  Saltine crackers ... yes he likes them too.  Baby cereal in his bottle ... yes and doesn't do too bad eating it from a spoon now.  Baby yogurt ... no thank you.  Baby vegetables ... only when he's in the mood.  Fruits ... again, when he's in the mood.  He opens his mouth now when he sees a spoon coming his way and then swallows and shivers.  :) I made an egg for him the other morning and he only took a bite or so of it.  He has a sippy cup that he likes to chew on but hasn't yet figured out that if he sucks on it, water will come out.  He will figure it all out very soon.  I think his month number eight, will be a learning and liking month!!!  :)

Austin is loved so much in our home and family!!!  His hair is really coming in nicely!  His blue eyes are sparkling with health and full of life!  He is energetic!  He loves to be entertained.  He is our baby boy that is growing in leaps and bounds right before our eyes!!!

We love you little man!!!  Thank you for filling our hearts and home with laughter and joy!

Rug ...

We bought an oriental rug for the dining room and it's looking great!!!  I love how it adds some color and softness to our room!!!  The morning light is so gorgeous this morning.

And because it is March 1st today, the winter décor is being packed away and Spring things are out!!!  I love Spring and I can't wait for the weather to get warmer and the blooms to come out and our grass sown and the landscaping done and bushes and trees and flowers planted and our garden moved and seeded ... take a deep breath here!  :)  Spring will be busy for us but we are excited! 

It's sunny.  It's March!!!  I'm ready for Spring!!!!
