Time to plant some seeds!!!!

It's time to work in the garden and we couldn't be more happy and ready for this new season!!!  Ashlyn loves to garden and we've had our seeds ready for a little while!  We borrowed my Mom's little tiller and it's perfect for our raised beds!!!  Austin was helping Mike work up the dirt while Ashlyn and I grabbed our garden gloves and seeds!!!

Last Fall, we put mushroom mulch on the gardens in hopes of it helping my hard soil!  It also puts nutrients in the dirt that are great for our plants!  We also use an organic fertilizer and lime in our gardens!  I can't wait to see how the soil will improve!

When Mike made these garden beds for me he filled them up with the top soil we had from remodeling the house.  I would never do this again because it put tiny grass seeds and stones and other unnecessary things in the gardens!  So, here the kids are picking out any stones that they see lying in the dirt!

This was such a gorgeous night to work outside!  The farmer just plowed his field and the kids were playing in that dirt too!

And then it was time to plant our seeds!!!  We laid the peas in the rows and then covered them up.

Here is the butter crunch lettuce that will grow into much bigger heads and then we will enjoy it in salads!!!  It makes the best strawberry salad!!!  We also planted seeds for cut lettuce and spinach.

We've got landscapers lined up to come and lay brick in between the garden beds and then we won't need to weed-ed around them!!!  It will look much better and I'm excited to get this project under way!!!

What a fun weekend we had with these little boys!  Matt and Lena went on their 10th anniversary trip and so the boys stayed with us!  Austin and Adrian were looking so forward to this sleep over and they played every day until they were exhausted!  Ashlyn and Hunter love to play and hang out together!  And Bryce, he's my little buddy!  He did so well here!  He loves all the action with the kids and loves to eat our veggie straws and enjoys the animal books!  He's such a cutie and we loved having them here!

I'm not gonna lie that this was extra food cooked up and tons more dishes to do but look at their cute faces!!!  It was gorgeous outside and they enjoyed ice cream sandwiches for the first of the warmer season!

And while they played and ate their treats, Matthew and I worked outside!  Matthew helped me with the edging around the house!  It's amazing when I get this chore completed I feel like I'm soon ready for mulch!

And the mower is serviced and ready to run!!!  I mowed around the house and it cleaned up the grass from winter sticks and lots of pine needles!

Mowing season has begun and I'm ready for it!!!  I've got some weeds to pull out and some roses to trim back and then we might order us some mulch soon!

Mike's youngest brother Ritchie is going to Gators Boys Camp this weekend for a year and a half.  He's going to be a camp counselor for troubled boys.  We had a party at Mom's the other night for his birthday and as a farewell party!  Blessings as you serve the Lord in this way Ritchie!

And this little tot was acting way too cheesy to not take a photo of him!!!  Love you Bryce!

And we have some blooms going on outside and they are so pretty!!!

Tuesday we filled up the bird feeders and Austin wanted to do it by himself!  I hope he's going to get some inside that little hole!  He's so cute!

Oops missed some there!  :)

We've been having wonderful weather all week so far and it feels so good to be outside!!!!

Thank you Jesus for Spring time!!!
