Autumn weekends!!!

I planted Dahlias in the spring and they are so pretty!  I only did the red color and thinking maybe next spring I'll add some more colors??!!!  I didn't want them to freeze so I cut the rest of the blooms and dug out the bulbs.  Now I have this beauty setting on my dining room table!

We love weekends BUT weekends spent with friends are always the best!!!!  John and Kathy have been doing this "Chili over the campfire" meal for a few years now and invited us 50's group over on Friday evening.  It was a nice fall evening with the fire needed!  We suddenly went to warm days and then some cold days to mostly cold days now.  The heat is turned on in our house and the fireplace is used!

Kathy makes really good chili but the toppings are the best!  She's always got fresh cilantro, sour cream, hot peppers and cheese!  Corn chips are served on the side plus corn bread!!!!  It's one of my favorite meals ever!!!!!

The children played up in the Kings nice barn bouncing basketballs while us adults chatted around the campfire!!!

Saturday we spent most of the day at Matthew's basketball games!  That night we propped up our feet at home!!!

Sunday we skipped Sunday School but went for the main message!  We now have an intern pastor, Merv and Laurel Charles!  It's so good to sit under solid teaching and it just feels like a new beginning for Honeybrook Community Church!!!!

Plans were to have lunch at church with our small group, go home to change clothes and then met up with Flauds and Mervs to go hiking.  Well, the lunch was very delicious with another of my all time favorite meals - taco salad!  My plate always gets so full with lettuce, meat, cheese, and all the other yummy toppings!  Beth made this yummy corn salsa that I topped my salad with!  Ill share the recipe!

The hiking plans changed because rain came to town.  Instead, we went to Merv and Juanita's house.  We didn't go home to change clothes but lucky for us, Hadassah was coming to visit Jeremiah and she brought some clothes for us!  We played the game Quarkel for the first time.   It was fun.  We ended up staying for supper too.  Juanita whipped up some soft pretzels and they were so yummy!

Sunday night we enjoyed the Chiefs game in the basement.

And now it's officially beany season!  The weather is getting colder with less and less warmer days.

Today is a day spent right here at home.  Mondays are a bit crazy and busy because I'm in charge of Ladies Bible Study at church.  Then I try to get the laundry finished up before it's time to pick up the school children!  Last night we all went to Hadassah's playoff volleyball game!!!  The WARRIORS made it to the playoffs and we are there to cheer them on!!!!  It's so fun!  So, being lazy today at home is such a great idea because it's raining outside and the fireplace kicks in now and then and I'm catching up with this blog while Austin plays and watches some Peter Rabbit!

PS. I have Christmas music playing today ... just for fun!  I'm excited for the upcoming holiday season!!!  It will be time to think shopping, baking, gift wrapping, ordering cards and stuffing envelopes!  We've got a fun schedule for November and December all because Jesus was born!!!!!

One more thing ... Austin is all into playing David and Goliath but he also loves to play Peter Rabbit!  He is one of his favorite cartoon characters!  Yesterday, we dug some carrots out of our garden and he wanted me to take of picture of him!  After I did, he showed me this picture he saw on the tablet of Peter Rabbit!  :))))  Do they look alike????

He's so cute!!!!!

Have a great day!!!!
