Pumpkin Season!

It's pumpkin season around here and so we go for all things pumpkin right?  Absolutely!  And when you get a text from a friend, like Sherry Zook, telling you that Rachel's Crepes is now serving their pumpkin crepe, you go for it!!!  Right?  Absolutely!!!  It was a great lunch with Sherry as we each enjoyed a lunch crepe and then split the pumpkin cheesecake crepe for dessert!  Thanks Sherry for the invite!

Then the next day, I got to enjoy my first cup bowl of Autumn Squash Soup at Panera!  So yummy!!!

I also did some pumpkin baking here at home!  Last weekend I made some pumpkin cream cheese cupcakes and today I baked pumpkin cookies.  Both desserts are to be shared and not just for our family.  I thought I used the same Pinterest recipe for the cookies today as last year but they didn't turn out near as nice.  That's one thing about pinning recipes online.  Sometimes I forget which recipe I used.

The church we attend, Honeybrook Community Church, is going into a good transition!!!  I praise God for this!!!  On Sunday, we commissioned our new intern pastor!!!!  We welcome Merv & Laurel Charles to our congregation!!!!  Changes in the church are not always fun.  The past few months have been hard for our family because some of our dearest friends are now attending elsewhere.  We went through this before at another church and its still difficult.  We now have this beautiful new church building with some empty pews.  It makes me sad to not see some of our Sunday church friends every Sunday anymore, but God's got a plan!  One thing I've learned with being raised with a church family is that people come and people go.  I'm being reminded lately from the verse in Matthew 22:37 to:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself'."  So, if you need a place to worship on Sunday mornings, come visit us!  We'd love to have you!!!

And here's some school news! Our children attend the same school I attended!  It was a great school years ago and it's still a great school!  Hadassah is a senior at Linville Hill and is finishing up her very last year of playing volleyball for this school.  I can't hardly believe this!  I remember when she just started bumping a volleyball.  She bumped and bumped!  She soon fell in love with this sport and finally had to make a decision for volleyball and then basketball (which she also liked) or just go with volleyball and excel!!!  She chose just volleyball with she was a sophomore!  Hadassah went to volleyball camp at Lancaster Bible College every year she could except this past summer!  She also worked her butt off at CLUB volleyball for BLAST and PA ELITE.  Both of these travel volleyball teams have helped Hadassah in leaps and bounds!  She has extensive practises and plays in tough tournaments!  She is thriving and totally loves, loves these events!!!  Last night, was Senior Night at school where they honored the seniors on the volleyball team at school.  They then played their last scheduled game and are now moving on to districts!!!!!  I'm so proud of Hadassah and how she is a great asset to the team!!!!

Here's a cute picture that Ashlyn's teacher posted on the class website the other day!  Ashlyn is liking her third grade even though it was a bit of a rough start with learning her new teacher and her new assignment book!  Here are some of her closest friends in school!

Now, these are not pumpkin but they are delicious!!!  I started buying sourdough bread from a local lady that bakes it right in her home!!!  It is delicious and a healthier choice for bread!  The Daily Bread Company does a fantastic job at her baking!  We love the cinnamon raisin loaves!  I tried for the first time, the biscottis!!!!  There are just so yummy also!!!  The gingerbread flavor is my favorite!

We've been having such a beautiful Autumn!!!  The weather has been warm and sunny with daily gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!!!!  Today, however, is rainy.  But we need all the rain we can get because we have been on the dry side!!!  It makes me want to bake, finish up laundry and sit close to the fireplace!!!

Enjoy the rainy day and stay warm!!!!
