Track - N - Field Days ...

What a week of school activities!!!  The ball games on Tuesday.  Matthew's track-n-field day on Wednesday.  Hadassah's track-n-field day today.  We went from sunny, warm and windy ... to sunny, chilly and windy ... to sunny and nice.  Our tans were again boasted on all these days!

Matthew is in elementary so their track day is separate than middle school's.  The students are all divided into four different color teams.  Matthew was on the red team this year.  They tally up all the points throughout the day and that's how they know which team gets first, second, third or fourth place.

They all started with some relay races in the morning.  Ashlyn and I sat on the sidelines wrapped in blankets and beanies.  The wind was chilly.  Different from the warm, humid day yesterday.  Matthew did well with the races!  I then went to Subway and grabbed us some lunch.  The kids love it when they can have subs for their lunch instead of their normal sandwiches!  "Baby" prefers a veggie sub ... so Ashlyn and I shared a veggie sub.  :)  Still trying to not eat meat with this pregnancy because I feel much better!

After lunch we all moved our chairs down to the track fields and watched the kids race, do long jump, high jump, softball throw, etc..  Matthew did well with long jump!  His best measurement was 9'11"!  I usually try to get some pictures of all the events but I just wasn't up to climbing up and down the steep hill all afternoon.  I took some pictures from my chair and got some close ups when Matthew did long jump!  The sun did shine more in the afternoon and Ashlyn played on the swings with Ava and Sophia a lot!

Sweeping a ball with a small broom.

Balancing a ping pong ball on a spoon and running a sponge with water to the other side and squeezing it out in a bucket.

Little Miss and I had to bundle up because it was a windy, chilly day.
The sun was nice and did shine later in the afternoon but the air was still chilled.

Matthew did long jump and jumped 9 feet!  Good job bud!

Running ...

This first track-n-field day went well!  We prayed for safety and protection and God blessed us with just that!!!  Tomorrow I will pray for a 'not so windy day'!  :)  Thank you Jesus for your protection!

We had our second day of track-n-field today.  The past two days out in the sun and wind was fun but I did pray to God last night and said, "Tuesday was warm and windy.  Wednesday was chilly and windy.  Could we have a not so windy day tomorrow?"  :)  And He answered my prayer!!!  The weather was perfect!!!  Not too warm and very little wind!

It was Hadassah's turn to perform.  She jumped in the sand pit with long jump.  She ran the tracks.  She did the relays.  She did great!!!

Hadassah loves long jump and probably because she is really good at it!!!  She beat her personal record and jumped 12 feet 7 inches!!!  She was so happy!!!  Way to go girl!!!

 Running ...
Ashlyn and I watched together again.  :)  This was our third day in a row to watch the kids compete and do track or sports.  Today, Ashlyn brought along "Baby Kate" and she played with her on the side lines.

Relay race.  Waiting for the paton.
Passing the paton and running to the next person!  Go red team!

The very last event was a relay race involving the teachers.  Everyone loves to watch this!  :)  It was the four middle school teachers VS. four parents, four ninth graders and four middle school students!  The middle school students won!!!  What a fun run!

I love watching these track-n-field days!  Watching the children use their talents and seeing their attitudes whether they win or lose is great!!!  Thank you Lord for safety and for nice weather!!!
