A "LOVELY" Weekend!!!

Our Valentine's weekend was wonderful!!!  I got to spend the whole weekend with my husband and friends!

Someone was knocking at the door on Friday afternoon and I was handed these!  Roses from Mike!!!  How thoughtful and pretty!!!

On Friday evening, Hadassah asked if just her and I can go out for a coffee at the "Coffee Corner Shop" right downtown.  I knew Matt and Marlene would be showing up around 7:30 and it would only give us about an hour but sure!!!  We quick grabbed our jackets (and yes you really need your warmest jacket right now!), made sure Mike was OK with watching the only kids for a little and off we went!  To the coffee shop.  Right down the road from home.  Hadassah loves one on one time and so this was super fun for her.  And me.  We both ordered our drinks and sipped on them as we chatted and enjoyed the café feeling!  I love coffee shops and cafe's!  We were back home at 7:30 and Matt's were already all set up for Settlers on the dinning room table!!!  Perfect!

Cities and Knights is a game that we only play with Matt's.  It's the extension of Settlers.  We played two games while the kids played and ate cookies and left over pizza.  :)  Matt won both games but it took till almost midnight to claim his victory!  :)  Thanks guys for coming over!  It's always a pleasure to have you guys here!!!

Saturday was a day that Mike and I were looking forward to ever since the "Buddies" planned to go out!!!  Getting together with old friends is always a huge highlight for us!!!  But first, we had some Saturday chores to do and some groceries to go buy.  We were down to only a few fruits and vegetables and to start a weekend out like that is never a good idea!  To be able to offer the family fresh cucumbers and fruits helps keep the sugary snacks under control!  :)  Hadassah and I went out together after Mike came home from the shop.  Costco helped with our fruits and veggies situation and Little Boutique was a fun, quick stop!  We are always in our happy place when we stop in at Ross and Hadassah needed a few things there!  The roads were a mess by 5:00 with wind blowing old snow on the roads and making drifts.  It was so COLD!!!  I was happy to take a hot shower and blessed to go out on a couples date night with Mike!!!

Jenna came here to hang out with the kids and Austin went to Jody's while we ate at Cork and Cap!!!  With our friends!!!  In the upper room.  Away from everyone else!!!  :)))  We had a real blast and loved the whole evening!  We played catch up while we ate delicious foods!  And just as I was expecting ... the night went by way too fast!!!

We laughed as Matt pulled out his selfie stick and told us all to smile!!!  (We missed you tons Dave and Suz!!!)

Yummy!!!

Here's the crew!!!  Dave's are in Belize and we missed them but happy to be with these people once again!!!

Sunday was the official Valentine's Day!  At it was sweet!!!  We enjoyed the love songs during the worship service and the message on loving our spouses more!!!

We came home for a simple but fun lunch.  We heated up leftover pizza, made a fruity salad and warmed up soup.  It needed to stay simple because we woke up Sunday morning with no hot water.  Again!  We need a bigger propane tank!  Washing dishes with cold water is no fun!

I made jello on Saturday and topped them with chocolate hearts!
I put chocolate chips in raspberries and they were so yummy and cute!

Hadassah and Jenna did chocolate covered strawberries on Saturday night for fun.

They also made these little desserts for the youth Valentine dinner on Sunday eve.  Before delivering them to the dinner Sunday night, I topped them with Cool Whip, a raspberry and a chocolate heart!  They looked adorable and tasted great!  Put an Oreo cookie on the bottom of a paper cup or muffin paper.  Mix 1 pk. cream cheese, 1/4 c. sugar, and 4 oz. melted chocolate.  Fold in 2 c. Cool Whip and spoon on top of the Oreo.  Refrigerate overnight.  Top with cool whip!  Thanks to cousin Mary Jane for sharing this recipe in her cookbook!

We relaxed Sunday afternoon and took naps on such a cold day!  John and Suz invited us to come over for hot soft pretzels and we can never turn down an invitation like that!  Again, the kids played while us adults chatted!  Suz made the best soft pretzels and with fresh veggies and chocolates - we called it our supper!!!  :)  Thanks guys for inviting us again!

The whole weekend was a blast!  One event after the next but all with wonderful people that we love!!!

I love you, Mike!  Thank you so much for the fun romantic weekend together!
