May 1 ~

Another new month!  Another day to flip the calendar.  Another hot cup of coffee!!!  The washer and dryer are both working hard for me this morning!  The lawn needs mowed and I need to take care of the tulip bulbs that have now died off.  And did I mention that it's now MAY!!!!

May is a favorite of mine!!!!  So much to be grateful for because the grass is green, green!  The flowers are planted the hardest outside work is completed.  Now it's up keep for the rest of the summer/fall!  The Cherry Blossom trees in our front lawn are blowing their flowers all over the place and that's giving Hadassah's nose a hard time!!!!  Allergies is something she just started to deal with in the past few years.?.  The strawberry plants are loaded with blossoms which means we should have a good berry crop here in a few weeks!!!  We didn't pick any lettuce just yet but it's going to happen soon!  This is also the month when we start buying watermelon on a weekly basis!  Yum, yum!!!

These trees in the front lawn are so gorgeous!!!

May is always a very busy month!!!!  Counting down those last weeks of school always brings all those "end of the year" events!  Matthew was at MACSA yesterday doing track.  Ashlyn was on a field trip also yesterday and explored Lancaster Park!  Hadassah will be finishing up another year of volleyball with her last tournament coming up and Matthew is just starting with his baseball games!  It will be track-n-field days, awards, Matthew's graduation and so many more events all happening at school!  I love this time of year though and even though it may call for extra cups of coffee and lots of H2O, it also means summer is just around the corner!!!!  Spending time at the pool and taking some beach trips are high on our list!!!  We had some dates reserved to spend at the cabin but obviously that will probably be pushed back now!  Dad is rebuilding the cabin that burned flat and today the walls are being set!!!!  Mom and Dad are working hard at getting the cabin rebuilt but it takes time, hard work and many days traveling back and forth!  We are excited to see the new changes in the floor plan and we can't wait to make new memories in the new cabin!!!

Matthew's first baseball game was on Monday night!!!  And they won!!!!!

Playing back catcher for the first half of the game and then went to short stop!

Matthew played for years in the Gap Little League but this year he moved to Strasburg playing modified baseball!  He did really good for his first game with faster pitches!

And this was yesterday!  Ashlyn's class went to a park and they were told about park creatures and got to see some of the animal fossils!  So cool!

Snapping turtle shell!

Box turtle and squirrel.

Fox and the skull of a deer.

Duck feet.

Stamping animal paw marks!

Games and learning about the food chain.

Lunch time!

Scavenger hunt in the woods!

Looking ahead at my calendar I have Mother's Day and my birthday and Memorial Day highlighted!  Three big celebrations coming up!!!

Let's celebrate today!!!!  It's May!!!!!
