Detroit, Michagin.

We had a fun getaway to Detroit for our 2019 football weekend!!!

We drove the many hours early Friday morning with John and Kathy!  We always have a fun time traveling with them.  Kathy is our navigator and John was the driver most of the time!  Mike and I just ride along and enjoy the view!!! :)

We always eat good food on weekends like this!  The older motel we stayed at was nice too!

Detroit is where FORD builds all their trucks!!!!  We got to tour some museums and even go to the truck plant and watch them build trucks!!!  It was really neat and we spent the day on Saturday touring the town.

There was a small diner in the museum and they served foods like they did in the older days.  Mike and I couldn't resist sitting down for a soda in a bottle!

This is how car seats were first made!

We went down town and toured a farmers market!!!!  Places like this are my all time favorite!!!!  To see all the produce and these balls that they called "spider balls".  I asked how you eat them and the produce man said that you don't.  You lay them around your house and they keep spiders away.  OK, I didn't know there was such a thing!

Of course, I grabbed some fennel to munch on!!!!!

Kathy is really good at finding the "bakery" or "pastry" of the city!  This was it!!!  SO YUMMY!

Desserts ....

On Sunday was game day!!!!  We watched the Lions get defeated by the Cowboys!!!!  What a fun game!  Every year I learn a little bit more about the game of football!

They did a great job honoring our country and those who serve our nation!!!!

After each NFL game, some meet in a circle to pray!  We always look for this and think its so neat that these pros still stand up for their faith!!!!

 Here's the crew!!!

The city was full of Christmas décor already and I was loving every bit of it!!!!

I would be a market shopper if I lived near this!!!!  So much wow!!!!!!!

Coffee shop!

So many pastries!!!!

After the football game we found the Christmas Markets right the center of city.  This was really neat too with little glass greenhouses packed with holiday things to purchase.  This big camp fire was warming us up after we grabbed a coffee from a really neat coffee shop right in center city!

To spend this weekend without the children by our side was a relaxing time and a time for Mike and I to spend quality time together!!!  We enjoy weekends like this !!!!!

We were ready to see the children though when we got home.  Austin was missing his mom WAY TOO much but many thanks to those who watched and cared for them while we skipped town!!!!
