National Day of Prayer

Isn't it such a blessing to know that our country still has a special day set aside for the thing called "Prayer"!?!

I wonder if us Christians take avantage of this day like we should?  I think this day should be a celebration and lots of rejoicing for those that do believe in prayer.  I hope that you can spend extra time in prayer today for our nation, our values, our convictions, our future, our leaders, our EVERYTHING!!!

Our country many years ago took a stand for God!  Now it seems like Satan is trying with all he has to steer the USA into more and more evil motives.  There are lots of people that sure would say they are Christians in this nations, but then why are there tons of abortions every day?  Why do marriages keep falling apart and the divorce rate is sky rocketing?  Why are church benches left empty?  Why is there a very strong battle for good and evil?  It seems to be going for the worse than for the better.

But ... today is National Day of Prayer and so that we should do!!!  Let's pray lots today!  More than we usually pray!!!  Let's lift up our nation and beg God to listen to the cry of His people!

"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice."  Ps. 55:17

"Confess our faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  James 5:16

"Pray without ceasing."  I Thes. 5:17

Every year on this day there is a theme.  "One Nation Under God" is the theme for this year.  It's based on the verse in Psalms 33:12 ... "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."

Our president signed a proclamation today!  You can read it online at nationaldayofprayer.org/news/2010-presidential-proclamation/2012-proclamation.

I can't seem to find the theme song for this year but I like this song!  Take some time today to lift up our hurting nation in prayer!
